Thanks VapingTurtle. I have some other large tc mods. Even the ones hat are meant to be small for big boxes. I wanted a removable battery small mod to take over for the istick tc which is ok but nothing special with quite short battery life. Now that can be relegated to backup when I have to charge a battery or something.

So I just ordered one of these for $45 shipped priority. I'm a bit short on time and patience as I'm ill. Can anyone nutshell what the debate is about? It looks to be a good enough mod for the money. In used to changing temp through a menu given my boxer mod.

What's he verdict. Do we like it? I couldn't find anything else with removable battery at his size or near the price. So I just sorts went for it.

Thanks guys. I promise there's a reason And it's not laziness in not reading the last fifty pages or so.
In a nutshell. The choice is between the dee2 and vtc mini.
I bought the dee2. A lot of people find the upgradable software in the vtc mini a better choice but since owning the sx mini for a month and yihi's betrayal. I'm not sure if these companies will keep their promise for software upgrades.
So I feel that i'll just pay for the mod and use it till it pops. And when the time come buy a newer one.
P.S. prefer the all black look and form factor.

Who makes the vtc mini? What betrayal happened with the sx mini? The m class? They still update software for it right? Do either do more Han nickel for temp control?

Ahh the evic. I was one of the first people to buy the evic by and it was an absolute nightmare. I returned it once then again for s refund. I'm not s big joy tech / eked / ismoka fan and would never count on them actually supporting older mods when they have new ones. So in good with the d2

I'm curious to know about the sx mini betrayal. I wasn't aware of any. I own a boxer mod with the 350j chip

Bought the black. Didn't care for blue.

Joytech makes the vtc mini.
Yihi is still stuck on the 2.3 ver software test for ti.
And they are releasing the ml class . Talk is that they will stop upgrade for the m class .

It's funny. I may be the person who brought stainless steel to their attention. They had absolutely no plans to add it before our conversation. I had to write them a huge email with all kinds of details. Now they aren't going to add it to the chip I requested. :/

Regardless I've tried them all on the DNA 200 I have and I still go back to nickel. I find it to be the most reliable. The thermal stuff isn't as clear cut on ti or particularly ss. Very small changes comparatively so harder to do right. And I don't hunk sits less or ti work particularly well. Ti does but it tastes bad to me. And I've tried a few vendors and cleaned the hell out of it

I assume the d2 only does nickel ...?

So from my point of view. Upgradable software is not necessary.

It's nice to have for bug fixing but I wouldn't say feature adding is a big deal. But I see your point. I'm more concerned about getting fixed for hints like the evic firing full blast for a second and such. But most of those bugs are obvious up front and warrant returns.

I'm going to reach out to the person I spoke with at yihi and ice then my opinion in the matter. Especially since I spend so much time doing their work for them.

Does the new m class have a new chip or just software? Which chip is in the d2 anyway. I read it was a yihi

Sx mini ml class uses a version 2 of the sx350j chip.
D2 used the 130H yihi chip.
Its more honest for them to make mods not upgradable. Then to market it with upgradable software.

Oh well. At least it does ti for those who want it. I have a pile
Of the stuff I guess I'll use some time when I run out of nickel.

Thanks for all the info guys. Seems like the d2 is the right mod for what I'm looking for. I have my big stuff for the bed/couch side. I just wanted something better than the istick tc for going out in jeans and such. With the mark bugs gem being so small that seems like it wil be a great combo

It is a shame yihi abandoned people. They will Ultimate lose customers before those people upgrade I'd think.

Right behind you...
Dude, there's no betrayal by Yihi, there's just a single source rumor, and could likely be from an Evolv fanatic stirring the pot. Everything else points to the opposite, that there will be in fact continued support of the SX-350J V1.

If they can take the time to update the firmware on their least expensive board (the 130H) two months after release and after very very strong sales (i.e. no real market need for updating it), it leads me to believe they'll continue to support the M-Class, especially since they're still only going to be selling the SX-350J V1 to modders, who expect longer term support. They are not releasing the SX-350J V2 to modders at all, that's exclusive to the ML.

I suspect that the delays on final, non-beta firmware for the SXM is them simply working out all the kinks as they develop the SXML, and that they'll have a final SXM update about the same time the ML releases, and it'll be very similar, sans a few extra features that the ML will support.

I hope so. Waiting for the good news because my d2 with v3. Software is more stable with ti than my sx mini

Really? Titanium
Is somewhat unreliable on the 350j beta software but nickel is fantastic for me. Ti sometimes shows at 32F when it's clearly more like 400

I take he positive from
This though. That the d2 is going to be great for me :)

You can always email

cservice@yihiecigar.com which everyone should
If in fact they do discontinue supper rather than finish it.

But the people who have he chip but not the m class are probably in greater risk than m class owners.

Did they make the new one any lighter or
Is it still a hand to hand combat weapon?

That's the reason I bought the dee2. The weight on my pockets is unbearable. [emoji29]

I didn't realize it came with a sleeve and I ordered a few from fasttech. If it comes with a sleeve what's the big to do about paint? Put the sleeve on it , problem solved

Anyway it just arrived. Super fast shipping.

For all intents and purposes it's the same size as the istick tc. It's a hair bigger but functionally I consider it identical.

I should have waited to order that hotcig dna200 box until I got this. So far it's awesome.

If only it did stainless steel. As a yihi boxer user it's very intuitive. Build quality is good. Sliding it into the sleeve is annoying as the sled comes off easily.

Fast scrolling is a bit strange. Too fast really.
