I used to think the same about the spaced coils. I was one of the biggest skeptics of the clapton, I've been put in my place tho.
I have the original deck that I did adjustments on to increase both air and liquid flow much like the v2, tho I don't know if the v2 has increased airflow, I think just the holes for liquid have been revamped. Still hear way better thoughts on the v2 compared to stock v1.
The new rba section is actually less friendly towards vertical builds, the wicking needs fill the deck all the way out to the holes to prevent leaking and tight enough but not too tight so it allows for flow. There's a nice picture tutorial out there, if I find it again I'll link.
All that said the new occ vertical coils however a much improvement over the originals.
That's saying something cuz I loved the original occ. especially the .5 tho they both gunked up too fast. Can you easily dry burn them? And boy do those replaceable coils cost a lot. I think it ends up being over 3 bucks a coil

Found it: Subtank Mini v3 RBA-26g twisted vertical coil build and wicking - Album on Imgur
I do the same thing in the v1 except I use clapton coil and I don't need to pack as much cotton since the liquid is still fed from the bottom.

This also looks like a good idea to improve airflow.

I fear we're drifting away from the original intent of this thread, sorry folks just wanted to lend a hand.

Bah, I got the initial email from 101 but no follow up tracking past the doesn't actually count "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS".

Guess they ran out of time today, even though i did pre-order rather early.

Log into the website and check your order history. My tracking number was listed there. I never got the second email either.

Have a feeling Mike Vapes will be banning me from his reviews. He would rather be a Douche than learn anything.
Oh well..............unimpressive reviewer anyway.

I bet you're all broken up about it too, or not…if he's not smart enough to realize his error he definitely shouldn't be getting free goods to review, what a bonehead.

Suddenly i really want this thing to get into TC, eventhough im happy with my sig30. I'm kinda reluctant to pull the preorder trigger on FT though, really don't want to get something messed up and a month later the v2 comes out. Btw, the chip, is it also firmware upgradeable? I mean, does YIHI dish out updates only for the newer 350 chips or for this one too?
And should an LG HE4 be good enough for 75w? By my calc its scratching the limit, i don't wanna drive my batteries off the rails.
Somebody tell me why i shouldn't buy this :( :D

that whole review thread is nuts. There is one dude asking why it should lock the resistance at all in TC mode as if this is something strange...Obviously some sensible posts ;)

The safe limit for 20 amp batteries (like the he4) is about 55w (battery drained all the way down to 3.2v, 90% device efficiency - single 18650). You need a 30 amp battery for 75w (the safe limit of a 30 amp battery, with the same parameters as above, is around 85w).

Wouldn't it also depend on what ohms you are running your topper at though. I have a 25r. Is that not good enough for this device?
