I would say that is just how the tank is. My Atlantis gets way to hot for my comfort level, it could be nothing but I dont like it. My subtank just gets warm. These are at same ohm loads and settings.
Do you have atlantis 1 or 2? I'm probably gonna get atlantis 2 as my next tank

Just wanted to post I have the Atlantis V1 seen here with the 7ml ext tank...
Everybody raving about how wonderful TC is I ordered some nickel coils for it from VaporShark...at 42J and 430° set at .15 ohms resistance in Joules mode on the IPV4....But I am really disappointed....
.. I mean I've tried different settings and still get a really lame all around vape...heck, I even tried it on the IPVD2 with worse results, plus the base of the Atlantis was getting way too hot ..
My conclusion is this TC thing may be overrated, because I get a much thicker and enjoyable vape using the stock Kanthel coils... Not only in my Atlantis but in all my tanks...
BTW I tied a .08 ohm nickel build in the little Doge RDA and it totally sucks!
Again I tried it on both the D2 and V4..I replaced that lame build with dual 24g nichrome micro coils at .22 ohms..Good clouds/flavor and its awesome! On both mods.[emoji12] .

Atlantis 1, it vapes really well but IMO they just look so darn cheap. Its like they use the same materials from 3 years ago. If your must have a Aspire product get the Titan as it looks pretty good, even in person I looked at one at my local shop. The .30 coils give off a fantastic vape and the .40 are suppose to be even better. Even Phil Busardo raved about the Titan, I would skip over the V2 everyone hated it.

Me being honest here. TC sucks balls unless im using a clapton. But I normally am a twisted or clapton user. Standard TC coils just dont do it for me.

Are the coils better on the triton or what? I'll get that then. I'm also looking at starre pro. Supposed to be a great tc tank

I've only tried nickel in the Doge..but I guess I could try it in the Dark Horse..don't know if its really worth my time and effort...I mean both RDA's are hitting awesome with nichrome builds right now.. But it's something to think about..

Ok so j need to do my homework on this and have been looking stuff up all day. But I always hear people rave about Nichrome. Especially n80. What are the advantages of that over just regular kanthal? Is it all just preferences? I think I was reading something about it having low resistance but good ramp up time. I can't quite remember

Yep, you heard right..
With nichrome I can get a couple more wraps because it indeed has a lower resistance compared to the same gauge in A1 Kanthel... I like N80 24g nichrome and use it in most all of my RDA's..excellent ramp up time too..its great!

Don't get it.

Sorry, but all my tanks right now are RTA Build decks. Both SXM and D2 are delivering excellent warm vapes on TI and Ni builds.
Things were weak at first, until I kept trying to adjust logically. Everything just sort of slipped into place and made sense.
Ni Dual coil at 36.5J/415F
Ti Single at 27.5J/420F
SWEET Vapes
:)

what RTA's are you using?.what gauge wire? How many wraps on what size bit? same build for duals?
I mean that's great you got it figured out but it would help us out if you were a bit more complete in your info..thx

They do have new heads but all of them are interchangable. The triton has top fill, comes with the new style coils and it looks really nice. The one I seen looked good on my D2, I put it on there just to see and its pretty classy. The V1 and V2 just look cheap I dont care for them. And why not get top fill on top of it.

I looked at steam engine and liked the 26g stats for n80. That will be what I will be buying j think. Looks like great ramp up time but the low resistance comparable to 24g kanthal I have now. But the heat capacity is way less which means it's should ramp up and cool off faster. What does heat flux mean btw? Sorry to derail it again. If someone can explain quick or give me a link I would appreciate it.

My clapton build I have I run at about 425 and 35J so your settings make sense to me and its working for me well. Im going to order some TI wire this week and some thinner gauge nickel for smaller claptons in my tanks. Where do you get your TI wire?
