Ok but essentially you see the same issue with your unit?!?
Pretty much, it sticks at the last highest read resistance reading but if I press the fire button quickly sometimes it takes multiple times but it eventually shows the set resistance. Weird I know..

Pretty much, but do keep in mind your build and atomizer has a LOT to do with flavor, same as with Kanthal. Getting the right coil matched up with the right temperature setting matched up with the right amount of wicking in the right topper(s) to suit your tastes and the juice you're using takes a fair amount of trial and error for most folks. Once you dial it in though, I find that TC gives me a more consistent vape from start to finish. It's just getting there that's the hard part. :)
Just rewicked it and it's doing much better now lol. Needed more cotton actually. Now I just want to find a better dripper for the top than magma. Keeps getting hot. I think I'm definitely getting the mxv4. I just need to pull the trigger on it

Mine goes back down automatically when it cools off. You guys might've gotten defective units. Plus if you press both little buttons it shows the original cold resistance

ok so what is the deal with the resistance reading. I think this is what Mike Vapes was seeing (and misinterpreting). Lock in resistance and all is fine. Fire it, displayed R increases but never comes back down to th resting value, even overnight...vape is fine. Temp protection working great. Basically works well apart from this nonsense!

ps. system off/on makes no difference!

If I tap the fire button really quick it sometimes goes back to the set resistance. Weird :eek:

Nothing wrong here, just different than your used to.

Resistance is live read. TC works through regulating resistance shift of wire. You are seeing the heat shift. Releasing the Fire button stops the reading and screen memory sits at the last True Reading.
True reading is why it Drops on next press.

Heated = higher resistance reading
Cooled = lower resistance reading

Wonder why you do a Lock at Room Temperature?
That is why.

How do you lock the resistance?

Just picked one up from a local vape shop. Diggin it. This is something I will toss a TC tank on and carry with me when I am working, I can leave the expensive stuff at home.
Tc tank kinda seems a waste of money. The coils are so expensive. Why not build an rba such as subtank mini

No, no, no
My Orchid, Dual Ni200 .1ohm is absolutely rocking. Only needs new wick every 20-25 tanks.:thumbs:
Like he said idk thought y'all were talking premade tc coils. Dang you can put dual coils in an rta? I'm thinking about putting dual nickel in my magma and I might try to build a vertical coil in my subtank mini. Is that hard to do?

For heavens sake I know how bloody TC works. My point was that the resistance reading doesn't return to the baseline when everything cools down...

ya, its not supposed. it just gives the last reading when fire button was pressed/released.
Ok but why are people reporting that it does return to baseline?!? Seems like there are two 'flavours' in the wild. It's no big deal. The thing works pretty well but it's s bit odd and annoying!

Ok I see what it's doing but why is it setup like this? It has no value at all. To see the base reading after it cools you need to fire it again which then heats the coil regardless of how short a press you do. Utterly pointless imho. If it showed the real time R when you wake it up by pressing up or something then fair enough but this is stupid!!! Oh well as I said it's no biggie. Actually really like this little box :)
