Its what the specs say. I can tell that once you get down under 3.6 on the screen it stays at that voltage even down at 7watts. With a fresh cell I can tell the difference going from 4.2 on the screen down to 3.6 and around that point the power stays the same. I dont have a inline meter just going by feel on a 1.14 ohm coil.
Do you even sub ohm bro? Idk I don't always go super low but I don't understand why anyone vapes above 1 ohm nowadays. Unless it doesn't have buck and you do wanna go down to a lower wattage.

3.6 volts @ .5 ohms = 25.92 watts
3.6 volts @ 1.14 ohms = 11.36 watts (might be hard to tell between this and a 7 watt screen output)

Next time I remove the TC I'm currently using I'll test again with some Kanthal builds with an inline meter. You have to have some kind of coil attacheh, at least with my inline voltage tester, otherwise you can't fire the D2, mine also reads the output wattage and ohms, and of course voltage.

My approval!
Now, what I should have asked:
Bonus question: can anyone name a regulated mod that does not use a switched regulator? (i.e., a mod that uses a linear regulator)

It uses a switched DC regulator and therefore outputs a PWM signal. If it is a flat trace when it bucks it is because it is filtered/buffered. Only alternative is a linear regulator, a resistance circuit, which is very inefficient and no longer used.

I donno.. I don't have one... but others in this thread have stated the opposite. It has been said that it does not buck in power mode (non-TC mode). Did you check the output voltage with an in-line meter, or just look at the display, or is that what the specs say?
I don't know of any mod today that doesn't use some sort of inductor based regulation. What's the point of yer question? Shoot me the cliff notes version of your explanation.

I see you won the silicone sleeve lottery. How are you liking the TFV4? I recently got one too. I mainly use the rba section because of its size and juice channels.
I did win the sleeve lottery. [emoji1][emoji1][emoji1] still can't tell her I won. Lol

TFV4 on the triple coil is great. I was vaping at 50 watts and it was hot. I had to lower it to 35 watts. At 35 watts , did not taste any different, just no as hot. I don't how ppl are doing anything over that. I did not like the drip tip it came with, so I am using the Uwell one.

Otherwise having fun with my ipvd2. Great size and weight. Works perfectly for suit and tie work.

I noted the same effect with the IPV mini2, but did not bother posting my findings. I figured it was either a fluke on my mod or something people would just argue due to DC-DC regulation.
The boards may have some limited filtering.

Maybe if you had a wider e-liquid experience you might understand.
Some of my DIY flavors work best in Kayfun Tanks with 1.3-1.7ohm builds.
My Sugar Cookie is Great in an RDA at .4ohm
I Blow Ice Cream Clouds in a Dark Horse at .2ohm

Sub Ohm is NOT a requirement for Regulated users.

35W on the tfv4 triple? It starts to get hot >100W, 110 is still ok for me. But as I like it cooler I use it at 90W :D

Good to see the TFV4 looks good on the D2!
Lol. Yes my vaping status is still amateur. Come to think of it , I don't own a mod that does 100 watts.

An inductor is an element in a switched regulator circuit. It is still a pulse train (or PWM) signal in a buck regulator. (At least at some stage before filtering if filtering exists in the circuit.) The discussion started when Fit Simulation said they don't like PWM.

Here ya go:

And my answer to the Bonus Question: The last mods to use linear regulation to my knowledge were the Buzz Pro and Infinity Pro from Notcigs. I'm sure there are many still in use.

Does the TFV4 overhang any?

Yes I do. Did that help you any, probably not.

Im not sure why people think that its sub ohm or nothing lol. Some of us have been vaping more than a year and enjoy a wide range of things. I have a SX350 60w which does have buck and boost and using the same atty adjusting the wattage down to where its should be at 3.6 the vape is the same. Like I said before were not talking about a run of the mill board manufacturer. They do not post claims that they dont produce, its that simple.

I pretty exclusively use mechanical mods and I enjoy building and using my RTAs at 1.3ohms - that's just what I like (particularly with 18350 batteries). The IPV D2 is the first regulated mod that I plan to use on a more regular basis (I have a Provari that I mostly use when building) and I plan to use the same RTAs that I use with my mechanicals.

You sound like me. While working, I always had a 4Nine/18350 with a Kayfun mini in my pocket.
I have bought a few dozen Mech Mods and ended up setting most up for 18350's. With the efest Purle a few RDA's went to .8ohm for enjoyment.

Right now, for convenience, I'm using mostly my Regulated Mods, but it is nice to know I have a Nice Apocalypse Collection of dependable equipment.

i've been using mine with .8 to 1.0 Ti coils and it seems to be working fine
So, what are you running these coils on? What size Ti and how many wraps?
I have a STM v1 and find I can't get more than 4 spaced wraps of .28 in it.
That comes in higher than .3 so would prevent me from using this mod as I have no desire to go back to Ni. Too finicky for me.
