I got my ipv Mini from Elev8, in black. It arrived today, and this is my impression after using it for the past 3 hours. The device feels solid, and nice in hand. My 510 connection is crooked, it's not bad, but its there. The buttons are clicky, but not loud. My fire button has gotten stuck a few times already, hopefully it's something that will go away as it gets broken in. The first thing I did was put a fresh 35A Efest in it and turned it on, came on no problem. I went through the functions to make sure everything was as it should be. PWM, DC-DC, and the mobile function all are there as they should be, as are the preset power profiles. I built my Lemo to 1.1 Ohm with 26g Kanthal and wicked with Japanese cotton. I set it to 20W and fired away. It produced a non-hot, mild vape. I bumped it to 25W, and it was a little warmer, but not by much, at this point I figured something was up. I bumped it to 30W and fired it, only slightly more vapor and a little warmer. I took the Lemo off, threw it on my SX350 Box, set it to 20W, and fired. A nice, smooth, warm vape, as it should it be. I set it 25W, and its a hot and robust vape. At this point I know it's the mini. I took out the Efest and put it a VTC4, threw the Lemo back on the Mini, and the same thing. A very mild vape, even at 30W. I also switched it back and forth between DC-DC and PWM, still the same issue, both extremely underpowered even at 30W. I took the Lemo off and put a Orchid V4, built to .5 Ohms on it, which did the same thing. Even at .5 Ohms at 30W, still a very weak vape, in both modes. I then powered the device down, took the VTC4 out, put the Efest back in it, and put the Lemo back on it. This time, I set it to 22W, and suddenly it's producing as it should, very close to the way it produced on my SX350. I turned it up to 25W, same thing, got noticeably hotter, as it should. At this point I figured maybe it was an out of the box kink that just needed to break in for a little or something. After this for the next 30 minutes it worked without a problem. I got up to walk to the end of my block to grab some food, vaping as I walked without issue. I went into the restaurant, ordered, sat down, got my food to go after 10 minutes, and left. I had the mini in my pocket the whole time, gripping it in my hand (front hoody pocket). After I left the restaurant, I vaped it, and out of nowhere, it's back to the crazy soft hit again. I didn't press any buttons, drop it (it never left my hand), or anything that. It just randomly seemed to go underpowered for no reason. After I got home, changed batteries, powered it on an off again, but the same thing, crazy soft hits at high wattage. This is where I stand now. Has anyone else had or heard of an issue like this? If you have have you heard for a fix for it of any kind? Thanks, and sorry for the long post, just want to make sure every detail of my issue is clear from the start. Thanks ECF, and Happy New Year as well!
i havent had this degree of a problem. But i have noticed some "soft" vapes now and then. but havent been able to nail down why

Don't you have any means to measure actual output voltage or have it done for you, maybe at your local vape shop? I think I would do that if mine was acting like yours.
Also, sorry for asking this but did you at any point try to adjust the 510 connector by screwing it in or out?
Someone posted a pictured of their IPV mini opened, it seems very easy to do by removing the 2 hex screws on its side. A visual inspection of the inside, without touching anything else, could reveal a lose or broken wire to the 510 connector. Just some simple things I would try before giving up on it. Good luck, and happy 2015!

Not going to keep quoting that massive post.
Simplest Solution is to read the Reviews of others and If your unit is radically different - Return for Replacement.
Mods do not Break in, they work properly or don't.

Due to where the charging port is located I put it on the edge of the desk standing up. Desk gets bumped,

Mini falls, charge function no longer works. I"m assuming the solder tabs snapped.
Did you seriously do that?

And the reason some people have tried adjusting the iPV Mini's 510 center pin is the information found on the website of companies like Elev8 Vape ..... Many here have purchased from Elev8 Vape.

My guess is: intermittent and/or poor battery contact. Makes the chip throttle down its voltage output. I've seen this using an inline voltmeter while swapping out different batteries. The better batteries make the chip perform better.

Before you send it back I would open it up and check all your battery connections.

ipv mini 30w - clapour mini 30w-sigelei mini 30w ?

Which to get?

Never had anything from these manufacturers, So basically, which of those 3 would you say is best quality?
Who has least issues of those 3?

I posted on another thread that I wanted to get the ipv mini my next paycheck,
then someone said u may want to hold off the mvp3 is comming out, but i don't like where firing button is placed on that, so i won't consider it.

I really like the ipv mini for it's rounded corner.
The clapour mini looks real tight, i may go that route.
And the sigelei looks very well made, and almost identical to clapour mini.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

The Cloupor is a lot smaller than the IPV.
The IPV really isnt "small". The Cloupor is JUST now shipping to people though so no one knows how good it is.
The MVP3 is completely redesigned, has a new side switch and controls like the IPV, doubt its gonna be cheap though.
The Cloupor is cheapest of them by a pretty big margin, at only $34ish I took a shot with one to try out.

Sounds good: please post on the build quality of clapour, and i wish you luck!
I just recieved yesterday my 2nd istick, the first one had firing issue, sent it back for repairs, then got another 2 months use
out of that thing before the usb charger went belly up....as in lost it's position and got jammed up into the housing...ugh.!

I basically looked at it as well $38 shipped (2nd istick) vs. carton of smokes for $50. so i didn't care about 2nd purchase.

But i want to go sub-ohm with the atlantis, hence me looking into these 30w mini box mods.

(my poor istick) tryin it's best to chuck mini clouds...lol.

Well... I received my IPV mini on Sunday and my first impression of it was wow... this thing feels SOLID. The metal case is nice and thick, the 510 is perfectly straight and i have zero problems with a gap either. The only thing i'm kinda ...... about is I ordered black and i received silver. But considering the black really isn't black, i'll deal with it.

Due to where the charging port is located I put it on the edge of the desk standing up. Desk gets bumped, Mini falls, charge function no longer works. I"m assuming the solder tabs snapped.

The main solder points in my IPV Mini were all poorly done. This includes the + and - connecting to the 510, the - on the battery tube, and the chassis -. Earlier today I decided to pop off the side panel and take a peek at what's going on inside and immediately noticed them. I'm actually surprised the + on the 510 didn't pop off on it's own.

Here are a few pics.

No, I read this whole thread before purchasing the Mini, so I knew better lol. I guess I'll open it up and see if I can see anything wrong.

I'm quite happy with mine as well. I'll probably end up with a wrap (I got the silver, but it's almost too smooth. I'm afraid it's going to slide from my hand at some point.) Full-sized Nautis sit quite nicely, and even the Nauti Mini and my PT2s look pretty good.

If I could only get my wicking right on my Atomic, I'd be in HEAVEN :D

Vapor Skinz is running their 25% off promo until 1/7. It really does make a big difference in securing your grip on the device.
