I remember when I was in the military way back when, we used to be issued c-rations when on patrol. These rations contained canned food, a dessert, and a pack of cigarettes (3-5 to a pack). The irony is that the US Government issued me cigarettes, enticing me to smoke. Since then, prior to the e-cigarette, I have been smoking for 39 years thanks to my pusher, Uncle Sam.

I'm sure there are no longer cigarettes issued in the current MRE packs, but I just wanted to share this information with everyone, considering the FDA's recent ruling.

That sucks that they no longer put cigarettes in the packs. I would think under those stressful situations that a pack of smokes could help settle the nerves. What kind of country are we living in today?? There ought to be some kind reason we can sue them !!! Something like denying a person their last smoke, when they are fighting for their country.

I'm responsible for my own condition, but that's how I started smoking. Never smoked until I was 21. Perhaps I should sue the gov't like people sue the tobacco companies. And speaking of that - this 'the tobacco companies lied' line just doesn't get it for me - anyone that didn't know cigarettes weren't good for you - should be summarily shot.
