So, I am sitting at my desk - happily vaping away on my new Deus Prism with an Atomic sitting on top and decided to go show it to a co worker (she though my mods were pretty cool in the past) and she starts off on this whole "that things going to kill you" and "that thing is bad for you, the fragrance in it is slowly killing you."

At which point I turned around and said "Whatever" about as loud as I could...Now don't get me wrong, I think vaping has a certain risk factor (Very low) but all of this nonsense was coming from someone who smokes certain herbs that may or may not be legal depending on where you live...Now I am not against someone doing that, but she is actually smoking something on a daily basis and she is trying to tell me what I am doing is bad for MY LUNGS??? Give me a {expletive} break!!!

Again, I am all for people doing what makes them happy - but I have read where doing what she does it super bad for the lungs, I don't care if it came from the earth or not at least what I am inhaling is water vapor and the byproduct of something being set on fire producing smoke.

She then went on to say that E cigarettes were the governments invention to kill people so they can keep social security down? Ok, whatever...

I guess I can still show my boss my new toys, the purchasing manager, and well...That's about it, someone has already "complained"
and showed their "concern" about my e cigarette usage in which I was told I could only use in the designated smoking area here...Um, no I quit smoking and don't care to be around it - I vape at my desk still which is far away and tucked back from anyone else so I don't really see a problem with it.

Well, that's the end of my rant - sorry but people who do not have the facts need to keep their mouth shut because it makes them look like a fool when they spout out information that is blatantly wrong!

after that i'll message them,or mention to them the next time i see them, where did
you hear that again?all i can find is this clinical trail here, and another there, and this
doctor who is against smoking saying they are safe.keep pestering them and if
they do direct you the source of the info just say"oh that?did you read the comments section?".
generally they wont up with a source as they got there info via there weekly call to there mother.

lmao ... Been there at work myself. I only show off my mods to other vapers, it's just not worth it. I'll be giggling at that all day at that one.

That's because you are parading around showing off your mods. :)

Seriously. I don't know why some of you guys seem to go out of your way to get vaping banned like that. I agree with your sentiments but the workplace is not the place to stand up and proclaim vaping a "right" much less expect it to be granted. It might feel good to do this (and even make sense) but at the end of the day, you're in somebody else's house and they'll enforce whatever restrictions they please. So why invite it any sooner than need be?

Vape often and vape discreetly my friend.

It sounds like there's more in your co-workers analogs than just tobacco. :p  You cannot reason with those prone to a tinfoil-hatter who thinks government is out to kill the people.
You're better off suggesting that your toys are less likely to have something slipped in them than her analogs. In other words, fight fire with fire.

similar things have happened to me lately. i work in a very large power plant and there is a pile of smokers. it has made it near impossible for me to quit! i tried everything but champex or other such drugs due to the side effects....one guy i worked with tried it and had a full scale seizure. no thanks.

the vape has kept me clean for 3 months now and i have no urge what so ever to go back to the hard stuff. i still go out to the smoking section with friends, but no urge to have one. its been a blessing.

i was one of the first few in my workgroup to start with some good hardware on the vaping - meaning not the disposable or some small cartomizer based like the HDsmoke. now i look around and there are many guys switching. last time i had the funny look for enjoying my vape it was because he just wanted to know where i got my hardware!

but now i hear from these people over and over again how 'its just as bad as cigarettes for you!' and how terrible it is for your health. funny how i can't find ONE single study, in favour or not of vape, to back up claims like that. most i find are along the lines of may not be 'good' for your health but far, far better than cigs.

i have to say i'm getting really tired of this rhetoric.

Honestly, when I smoked, people would comment how those things are killing, its a disgusting habit, blah, blah, blah. I really don't care about others opinions. If I wanted an opinion, I'd ask for it.

I quit smoking successfully and am now vaping happily because I wanted to. No one forced me, nor could they have if they tried. It was my decision. With that in mind, I don't judge smokers, nor push them to vape, unless they ask me first.

Respect others, and if they don't respect you, then they were not worth interacting with in the first place.

I gotta agree with the big bear on this one. I work at a fortune 100 company on the overnight shift so it's a pretty small crew but I keep my vaping to myself as much as possible. I do it at my desk but no big clouds etc.

Unless you work in some small business where things are super casual you have to be very careful. All you have to do is piss off one person who will run to HR and claim a PG or nicotine allergy and you're gonna get vaping banned before you know it.

In our building they have already banned latex balloons, crock pots, holiday decorations and antibacterial sprays.

Just stay tucked in your corner enjoying your vapes at work =)

I thought vapor was enforced by ObamaCare, so we would have to buy more insurance and make the insurance companies richer. Or was it a Russian plot to get all the major cities covered in a delicious cloud of sweet vape so we couldn't see him coming to expand his bae back horse riding dominion.

Either way I will continue to blow chunky clouds at the pre-school playground so the children can be wrapped in the sweet embrace of strawberry cheesecake love and blow heart shaped clouds at the parents as they thank me for filling the air with a fog of glorious scents that not only cures any ailments but is also a proven as a male enhancement. Mods are shaped that way for a reason!!
