I have bin reading and watching a lot of videos about Reos and I really excited to get my first one also planning my second Reo purchase I want a Reo Grand or maybe a Reo Grand VV any one here have both Grand and VV Grand can explain the pros and cons of both?

There is nothing to stop you dripping on a Reo, but it defeats the point of a bottom feeder.

The vv grand is more forgiving of coils - if you make your own and miss your resistance target a little, since you can just turn it up or down for the vape you like. But it has electronics.

The grand is a brick of a mod, a full mechanical and so you make your coils to get the vape you want, but you can drop it and run over it and so on and there's every chance it will work still. It needs a little cleaning (in a sink with detergent) and a little file of the firing pin and some noalox now and then, but nothing too onerous.

You can kick a Reo grand too if you wanted to still have the VW capabilities a kick allows.

That versatility is why i'd choose it first.

i think 18500 - normally with a kick you drop down one battery size is all. A kick 1 is easier to install since it has the wires rather than the 2 prongs of a kick 2, so my understanding is it's easier to ground.

I use a kick in a tube mod rather than a Reo since i can get a perfectly good vape from my all day beater grand without one.

If you want to kick it, you should get the larger Grand. It'll take a 18500 to go with it and you'll have to scrape whatever finish you have on the unit off where the kick ground(s) need to make contact.

BUT, I did that and then promptly went back to "native" 18650's and just adjusted the coil for resistance and placement - the RM2 is a ridiculously easy platform to build on.

You can go as low as about 0.7 ohms pretty safely (with 30A batts recommended) on the current Grand, and there is a subohm kit upgrade in the works (should be available later this month). Single or dual coils are possible at that resistance in the RM2, but other atties are available that are more purpose-made for duals (they must be bottom feeding modded - Rob sells an IGO that's ready to go).

I suspect that getting really low with the resistance isn't really your thing, though, since you're curious about the kick option.

Do they compare to dripping? He!!, yeah.

They are, essentially, drippers with bottom feeding. The bottle is onboard. They hit like a mule. They are nigh indestructible and every working piece is replaceable. What's not to love?

Thanks Papa_Lazarou Your rite .7 is as low as I go I am more comfortable at around 1.8 So 1 more thing I have sony flat tops 30 amps are they good to go on the Reo Grand ? I think I read a post were Rob said they were but would like to here it again :)

I wouldn't recommend flat tops with a stock Reo. The pin has tendency to flatten out. Buy the batteries recommended on the site. They are 23A batteries, and at the ohmage you're comfortable with, you won't be drawing more than 12A. Looks like you're in for a smooth ride through Reoville.

Hmm, those are out of stock. PM Papa_Lazarou. He's in Canada and just ordered some AW's from a Canadian vendor, I believe. He'll likely and gladly share the link. I did find these guys in Canada, however, I in no way can vouch for the reputation or authenticity, but it's a start:
DashVapes - BATTERIES & CHARGERS - AW 18650 IMR 1600 MAH HIGH-DRAIN BATTERY

ETA: It looks like (by my eye) that these are authentic. There is a misprint in the specs, however. DashVapes is listing 10A as max. cont. discharge. That's wrong. It is certainly 15C (24A) for the 1600mah 18650.

Yep - DashVapes is where I ordered some from yesterday, but they were 18490's to go with my incoming woody.

I just checked the DV site for 18650's, but they appear to only have flat tops in that size (plus, the max amp is 20 - not bad, but not in the 26-30 range).

Yeah, I see the misprint in the specs, too. However, they may have accidentally copy and pasted the max. cont. discharge rate from the 2000mah 18650s.
