So the subject asks the question. A noob but really enjoy vaping. Just curious about DIY juice. I'm a bit of a tinker by nature so wondering if making your own juice is worth the messing around.

Pro's & Con's

Opinion please!

Definitely worth it.....! Not from a financial standpoint, but more of a preference stand point. I have a nice "juice" mix I use that's a combo of about 5 other juices, but it's a little weak. So I get some unflavored 24mg juice and add a few drops to it and it's spot on.

Same thing......get some PV and or VG and start playing with em. The experimentation is probably the most fun I've had in a long time. I made a mix last week that tasted like dirty socks......got my brother to try it, it was HILARIOUS

Drip a few, get a feeling for the flavor and start combining stuff. You'll be surprised at what you come up with...

Microcig, MIT [ MICROCIG INNOVATION TECHNOLOGY]. With more than 6 years of experience, yet, i buy 5 of their ce4 and not only cant they hold liquid but the one i tear apart has the wicks covered with what looks like glue. I will do my best to avoid buying their products.
The question was about juice, not ce4's.The juice is real Dekang and their service is excellent.Since I no longer use cheap China attys or cartos a once a year purchase of their juice is all I spend money on any more.

I recommend finding a flavor you like first and making adjustments to that. Starting from scratch is a lot of trial and error and wasted cartos, juices, time, money. But if you do try DIY be sure to record what you are mixing or trying because sometimes you get the perfect flavor after tweaking it a bunch and you cant recreate it, thats a huge bummer. start simple if nothing else

My biggest problem is running out of bottles to put my mixes in.....:p

Most vendors have empty bottles, but on Evilbay you can get armloads of them for pennies. I recommend washing them the first time before using. No need to inhale Chinese (or anyone's) manufacturing dust.

These are somewhat nicer ones for 32 cents each. They hold an ounce, and have a small tip, still suitable for dripping small amounts directly into a carto. The tip is long and pointy enough that if you are careful, it will often reach enough to drip juice outside the filler, next to the carto wall. That's especially nice on an initial fill on a new carto, no separate syringe needed.

All service is good, till there is a problem. There was a ? And as a newbe myself was pionting out a problem i had, so other newbe's could avoid it. Why would that bother you?

I've been vaping nearly a year...and mixing juices for customized flavors, but only got into real DIY about a month ago. I thought I was really happy with my "custom blend" and had a hard time seeing how I could possibly duplicate it myself with DIY. I bought a basic kit from DIY Artisan Kits - One Stop DIY Shop Store and some PG and VG from Amazon (good prices, pure PGA & kosher) and since I have Prime I could the shipping fast for free. I also picked up some spare funnels and a graduated cylinder or two from Amazon, and some empty dropper bottles. Worked out pretty good. Took me about 3 days to get a fix on what percentage flavoring I wanted (I do menthol and started with the standard "recommendation" of about 20%...nearly gagged it was so strong!!) Then after doing some adjustments with that percentage (ended up with 7% flavoring) and tweaking a bit with my PG/VG ratios...I finally came up with what I was pretty sure was a winner. A little insecure (Am I kidding myself? Is it REALLY good? Would anyone else like it?) The whole process took just about a week to finalize. I wasn't fiddling that whole time, of course...just off and on. Anyway...final proof I succeeded:

A few days ago I thought I'd go back and try my "custom blend" again for old times sake. UGH!!! I NO LIKEY ANYMORE!! It tasted weird to me! And I'd sworn by it and vaped it for many months! So I thought maybe I was just a bit crazy or something. Set up two PVS.. ..same type carto on both. Same voltage/ohms etc. with the batteries. Put my juice in one and the old "custom blend" in the other. Had hubby try both and didn't tell him which was which. Just asked him which one he thought tasted best. He's got pretty discriminating taste...and it's more discerning than mine. He chose my DIY juice over the other one!! That was all the confirmation of my success I needed.

I am going to be making this stuff and vaping it until they have to pry it from my cold dead fingers. I love DIY!!!

I personally found it to be a bit tricky to get things just the way you want it. But when you do get the flavors just right they tend to be better then anything you buy premade since they are just what you were looking for in flavor. As stated it can be a little expencive at first but think about it.. It's TONS cheeper the buying Packs of ciggs (smile)

I run into the same problem. I also tend to make big batches if I have a flavor I know I love. What do people use to store if making large quantites?

I'm thinking about mixing in jam jars, and then filling small 10 ml bottles (the kind that fit in my PCC) for day to day.

I use Glass Amber Bottles that are 120mil each. Now I dont usually make that much but I do 60mils usually. I also have 30mil Amber Bottles as well for my smaller batches.

I also buy stuff from amazon since I have prime.

I bought a graduated cylinder just like fourthrok but never used it.
what works best for me is a pipette or however you spell it to use for the PG and VG

Now that I have My Recipe (I don't do variety...I like menthol. Period) I generally mix and fill 60ml. bottles. I use the graduated cylinder to measure my PG (I just pour using a funnel and use the markings on the cylinder to get the correct mls. and the VG (use a large syringe with a VERY big bore needle) then measure my flavorings...using a 18gauge needle syringe or drops, depending on the amounts needed. Once that's done I measure my nicotine base in (I use a 48mg. base and only vape 5mg. so I only need 6mls.) I use a dropper for that. Once it's all measured out I pour it into my bottle. Drain the cylinder in there good. Cap and shake the bottle then let it steep in hot water (capped) until the water is cool. Put in dark cupboard. I find this to be efficient and I like that I can measure the PG (which I use at 85%) easily in it. I have a larger graduated cylinder if I want to make a 120ml. bottle. And a smaller one...which I'm not sure I'll be needing now that I've got the hang of things. It came with the set though.
