Hi I,m new to the forum and been of the ciggies for 4 months and happy at my vaping.
My dear old Dad who is 70 years old hes been smoking roll ups for 50 years and last week he asked me for a go of my Aspire Nautilus with a 24 mg juice in it. He liked it that much he called me today and said he got himself the same set up I have and is really enjoying it. My questions is this is it safe for someone his age to start vaping as he had a small heart attack about 3 months ago?
Hope you can help as I,m a bit worried.

Sure, why not? It's never too late to quit cigarettes to gain some benefits away from the tars and hundreds of other harmful chemicals. The elimination of carbon monoxide will help his heart. Say if he lives to be 90 years old -- that will be 20 years smokefree.

As a person who was an RN and physician assistant for 35 years, I can think of no reason why it would be contraindicated for him to take up vaping. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, just as caffeine is. The goal for him will be to gradually drop his nicotine consumption, which can be easily accomplished with electronic cigarettes.

It's definitely better than smoking!!!!!! It should help him breathe a little easier too. When I quit smoking and started vaping my oxygen went from 94% to 100% again. He won't be getting all the chemicals in the cigarettes any more. That said, how good it will be for his heart, I do not know but I do know it is better than smoking

Thanks for the fast replies, yea its better than the roll ups and I will call him later ans sorta ask him to give his doctor as bell just to be on the safe side.
Remember that not all physicians are up on the current knowledge of vaping. Some believe the propaganda that the pharmaceutical companies put out that e-cigs are dangerous. We all know why they do that; because vaping works better than Chantix and Wellbutrin to quit smoking and they want to eliminate the competition.

I worked for Porsche, so I damn sure wasn't going to tell you that a BMW was a good car! The same applies to BT & BP when it comes to e-cigs.

If I weren't on a public forum I would divulge the odd ways cigarettes, not nicotine, have physically affected me. I can only imagine how much more pronounced the damage is to an elderly person. If he insisted on smoking analogs, I agree with whomever said that they would already have given him a full vape kit.
It's time we stop letting big tobacco and pharmas kill us.

what could be worse than smoke? not much! and certainly not vaping (steam, h2o). I have to imagine that flavored steam+nicotine is better than smoke+nicotine. if you are that concerned about it you should probably have him ask his doctor. I quit smoking after only 3 weeks on an eGo-T device. Now i sell them at flea markets, ebay, website, etc. Every time i sell one i feel as if i just extended someone's life and its a great feeling.my site and shop is called eastcoastvapEr with a dot com on the end of it. does anyone know of a good place to buy mods from...specifically the LavaTube?

I would say myself that vaping is better than smoking 100 fold. But I'm not a doctor. Wouldn't be a bad idea next time he sees his doctor to ask if it's safe for him or do not do it. It's a 50/50 chance. My cardiologist told me I had to quit smoking or I would lose my legs. I asked him about vapeing and he said it's ALOT better than smoking/chewing and to persue it. Another doctor may say no it's not safe for you. I guess it's all up to how educated your doctor is on vaping mixed with the heath issues you have.
