They gave me dentures but I don’t know if it’s safe to smoke after 18 hours
Why didn't you ask your dentist? I don't think there are many dentists here on a vaping website. I don't ask a dental website about vaping.
These kind of questions are either extremely ignorant or are just trolling. Taking advice from someone that is not a dentist or doctor that answers these kind of questions is irresponsible and speculative at best.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What they are concerned about is the vacuum created by pulling on a cigarette or a ecig tank. You don't want to lose the clot created where the extractions were done. As others said, call your dentist.

^^^^This

It's called dry socket and you don't want that, trust me.

At any rate, your oral surgeon should have sent you home with instructions on what you should and should not do and for how long. Not good to get dental or medical advice on any forum.

I smoked and vaped through many extractions starting from walking out the dentists door. I have gotten dry socket 50% of the time. It's extremely painful. But I don't learn from it because I am that addicted to nicotine. Smoke now you take your chances is what your dentist will likely say but call her/him anyways.

Put a drop of you e-liquid on your tongue, no dry socket vacuum and it may sooth the nicotine craving. Who knows? This is my first foray into practicing dentistry not only without a license but without any knowledge. But...I have been in a dental office.

Define safe. I agree with those who have said that the main risk is disturbing the clot(s) and winding up with the excruciating experience of dry socket. Vaping and smoking are a double whammy, because there's not only the vacuum creating by suction that can disturb the clot, but nicotine can help break it down as well. Did they tell you to avoid straws and the like for a certain period? That would be how long you need to avoid sucking on things.

If you really can't make it without the nicotine, try a patch or a tiny drop or so of ejuice on your tongue. Nicotine isn't great, but it's better than nicotine and suction.

ETA. I'm sorry to say that I've just looked up how long you should avoid suction and the general advice seems to be one week. I don't know if I could hold out that long (well, yes I do know actually - I didn't), but the longer the better.

A word about general terminology in vaping. "The difference between smoking and vaping is that smoking delivers nicotine by burning tobacco, which can cause smoking-related illnesses, and vaping can deliver nicotine by heating a liquid in a much less harmful way."
