Hey everybody,

I attempted to clean my CE2 so i could change the flavor. All seemed fine until i woke up this morning and the juice had leaked all over my battery because the bottom didnt seal.

I wiped the batterry off but i dont know how i can get it all the way clean without water.

Is it safe to use a battery after it had juice leaked all over it?

Thanks

If it's sealed, you shouldn't have any real trouble...just wipe it down really good and clean the connection and drip well (if you have one on the PV) with cotton ball/swab and isopropyl alcohol. Should be okay. I've had tanks leak all over the place all over my battery before...should be okay provided it is a sealed battery connection and nothing got in the "ash" end.

Depends on the battery and juice. Mine appear to be pretty forgiving of that sort of thing. I''ve had some leaks. I just clean the contact with either 99% iso alcohol or contact cleaner. If you have a tube mod you can open it up and check to see if juice is inside but for a sealed one if it works fine if not probably not much you can do then. That is why I like to put adapters on mine wither I need them or not it adds a buffer for juice leaks.

What kind of battery? My inferno aka ego clone does ok through leaks. They are sealed batteries. I wipe down the thread with a soft cloth. Then sometimes take canned air to the threads. Now unsealed batteries I've saved a few trying to figure stuff out. That probably wasn't the smartest thing to do they still work. I have only continued using them at my own risk :)

These are all guesses since you didn't say what battery you have. If it's a sealed battery leaks should not be an issue. Just wipe everything up with a piece of tissue paper and it should be good to go.

I've had leaks on all my devices where there is liquid running down the sides and have not had any issues because of it.

Also, are you sure the battery is charged? A flashing light means it's needs charging a lot of the time.

It is a standard eGo 650. I cleaned it pretty well. I was just able to vape it once, then it started doing the flashing light thing again. I am guessing the flashing light is the short circuit protection?

I am pretty sure it is charged, I use it very little and it was working perfectly until this happened. Im half scared to try to charge it.

The only thing I can think of since it is a sealed batt is that juice must have gotten inside via the button area. Egos are pretty cheap, and batteries are pretty dangerous. If it were me, I wouldn't take the chance. I would toss it and get another.

As a matter of fact, I did. :) I had an ego start doing the flashy thing for no reason a few months after I bought it. Tossed it and upgraded to the I pro. :)

I give my egos a quick spray with Electrical Contact Cleaner once in awhile. And any chargers. Dries alot quicker than alcohol, and leaves no residue. Cleans everything off.

Clearos aren't an egos best friend. Altho most toppers seem to leak some at least. Driest thing I've ever used was a carto tank.

I cleaned with a pencil eraser. It was perfectly clean though. The battery is about 1 week old. Fingers crossed it just needed charging but I don't think so.

Don't let this give clearo's a bad name. This was the old style CE2 clearomizer. I have had my CE4 clearomizer apart and even lost an o-ring out of the top of it and it is still completely leak free.
