Is someone reading/checking my post while I am typing it?

Seems that whenever I am typing a response, quick response, and I either look away or am thinking of how to best phrase a response my cursor keeps moving around. So when I start to type again, if I don't pay attention, it is in the wrong place and not where I was at. Sometimes it gets really frustrating. Like someone is playing a joke on me.

It also happens whenever I am proofreading, the cursor just jumps to another place.

Is it just me or is it happening to others?

No laptop. Almost everyday. Seems it happens when I have a couple of lines in the text, I have been accused of being longwinded - of course I don't believe it. I use and understand computers so it is not something that happens everywhere, only here and it seems it started about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

It is not my imagination, though at first I thought it was. Thanks for responding, I thought it was just me going bonko..., and I hope someone has an answer and if not well... I'll just deal with it and stop being so longwinded, ha ha ha!

I am curious to see how often it happens to other folks here.

Thanks Rickajho. I will run a scan tonight before I go to bed. I thought that too however, I don't see any other problems on my system. I am hardwired on this computer not wireless. I do have an antivirus running in the background and it hasn't alerted me as of yet.

I will however run that scan and report back.

Ya'll have a good night. This place is addictive because of all the wonderful folks here ready, willing, and able to help out and make suggestions.

In the meantime maybe more folks will pipe up and we can get a handle on this.

Morning all.
No moisture that I can tell, it only happens when on this site and only when I am in the quick reply mode.

I ran a scan on my computer last night and everything seemed ok this morning, no bugs or anything. I am at work and will see if it also happens here, when I get a chance. Thanks for the replies.

Have a great day all!

Funny! Both of you. If it was my imaginary friend I would have some control over him/her and if it was the dirty mouse I would just clean it. Problem is I am not even touching the mouse when it happens.

So.... It hasn't happend here on my computer at work, yet. I'll take that back. It just happened again and I didn't touch anything. Seems that when I go past the alloted lines, visible lines of text and change something, spelling a word or whatever, then I get an autosave message and the cursor moves to wherever it decides it wants to go.

I'll try not using the quick reply and see if that is better. No problem, I can live with it. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't my imagination. Maybe quick reply doesn't like long replies.....

This is crazy it just keeps jumping around. Try putting in more lines than you can see on one page and just see if it happen to you.

Thanks

As an aside, my laptop's touch pad failed recently. I had to disable it (the touch pad) because the cursor would go into fibrillations. Any chance that could be happening to you? It only ever happened on the internet, and the cursor would be on the same line but dancing left to right. I could make it stop by putting a finger on the touchpad.

Other than that how's the "improved" forum upgrade workin for ya?

wuzznt, the upgrade seems to have slowed down the initial loading, when I first come on, other than that it seems fine.
bethzilla, I am using a desktop both at home and at work and yes I have been composing offline since I have a tendency to review my spelling and sentence structure a lot before I post.
I have come to the conclusion that the erratic cursor happens only when I fill the box with text. I checked both at work and at home, happens both places. If all my text stays in the box, can view it all, then there are no problems.
Thanks for your input and I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving shared with family, friends, and love.

There is that thread "So Slow Now" dealing with all manure of issues/complaints since the sight upgrades have been started. You may want to post this issue there or move this entire thread over. (if you can do that sort of thing.)

I'm wondering if there is a common browser issue. I'm using FireFox and not experiencing any problems other people are complaining about. And I'm running old FireFox v3.6.24 on probably one of the oldest lap tops connecting to ecf.

Maybe we are just discovering new "features" in Windoze 7?

The erratic cursor and text bouncing around you refered to in your op as well as the slow loading are what has happened to me since the upgrade. I doubt it's going to go away unless I change my browser.
Easier to just read and cut and paste posts occasionally. I'm sure nobody's going to miss my posts anyway.
