Is TC pointless?

It was, that and the fact that it was not anywhere close to a warm dense vape that I was craving. Once I found the mods and atomizers that delivered those things, I was truly satisfied!!
I run 3 mods in normal circulation. 2 are kanthal, one is temp control. I've never dry hit any of them except when I got the RDA on the big mod. It isn't that hard to just look and see if you still got juice in there.
I like temp control if the mod is decent about it (Sigelei Spark). The Sig 150 was horrible at it. IPV5 was no good for me either. Another thing that counts is changing coils in constant temperature place, having another vape to let that one cool down, etc.
I would just guess and say that it depends on the mod/juice/air pressure/election results.

btw people can crap on kanger all they like... but my kbox mini for the 3 days straight I tested TC never once screwed up with my SS wire builds.
Pointless? For you... I use tanks, RTA's & RDA's and always use TC. I use SS coils & only build with SS wire. Works great for me... 
I'd like to be able to lean back and take a big hard hit and blow out a giant cloud, and then go back to my usual flavor chasing and leisurely vaping, all without adjusting anything. A vape that adjusts to you! TC seemed like it would provide that, but doesn't quite get there (?) and it's probably too much to ask because other things would need to change on the fly as well. It might even allow the reverse, allow occasionally tootle puffing on a cloud chasing rig without burning at least.
It might be more to the point for what I have in mind to have a touch-sensitive fire button, press harder to get more heat for a hard pull, maybe also press lighter for leisurely vaping. This would need to be settable to avoid being excessive.

TC affords me a vaping style that can't be achieved any other way!
I use Ti wire & DNA's for TC. With E-Scribe I can set a 100 watt preheat for 3 seconds, for that instant Hit! With no worries of burning my wicks.
Everyone has their own vaping style, If it works for you, Great!

I've never tried TC. Although most of my regulated devices support it. I read an article explaining that TC is a good technology, but that it hasn't evolved enough yet to be worth using at this point. I read that article a few months ago, and vapor tech seams to be improving as fast as computer tech these days, so that article may be moot at this point.

Tried TC and was just too much work. The next generation of TC mods will hopefully make it easier to use.
Also, I greatly prefer kanthal, nichrome and SS to nickel and titanium, so I don't really need TC. I also mainly use mechs.
To each their own though...

1) Because I don't like an iffy piece of equipment deciding when my 0.15 ohm coil has pulled enough power from my battery. So low its ridiculous.
2) whatever device I've never ever had a dry hit. Even when I drip 25 a day.
3) because I hate it so low (who needs 0.15 for 60 watts anyway) I have bought higher guage which is too fiddly for me.
4)I use phenomenons now so I need like 12 watts. Don't need it.
Edit: just has a look at steam coil builder. N70 could work out for me, is there really that much difference though?
Only tried different wires in tc with the first one I saw on eBay. A waste of time IMO. I'v tried SS and nickel and they were horrible too (because I had to use them on tc mods all the time). An intangible difference for me. Each to his own though.

And vape the RTA-2 on the far right at 75w with a dual 24g Nichrome build... Just sayin what works for you (12w) doesn't work for me and vice versa....it's all good[emoji106]

most of my VW mods have the awesome CloudBeast tanks with .15 ohm coils I vape around 125-140 w..
And vape the RTA-2 on the far right at 75w with a dual 24g Nichrome build... Just sayin what works for you (12w) doesn't work for me and vice versa....it's all good[emoji106]

I have a box full of 150s all the way down to 50s
And I spent over a year buying 40 dl tanks and 12 drippers until I bought a kayfun and a Gus.
Man alive, have I wasted some money. I'm happy now though.
And I use an 18490 paps and phenomenon and go all day basically. Compared with my 7 18650s a day.
I'm glad we both have found our sweet spots
