ok thanks everyone for chiming in...

the butter flavoring, i'll have to check into popcorn lung... I've been vaping TV Butter Rum and it's fantastic... I knew it was too good to be true... haha

Butter Rum sounds logical since it has the word butter in it, but I would really like to know what other flavors are known for it. It could probably go on and on. I like the caramel flavors and wonder if they have it in them.

But the truth is without long term tests, we're all guinea pigs.

Yup. A little scary.

With cancer sticks, you pretty much know exactly what your getting into and what the consequences are. With the variety of eliquid base material and myriad of flavor concoctions... all bets are off. Its hard to imagine the consequences of vaping could be worse than smoking, but do we really know "how safe" this stuff really is or is not?

Of PG, VG, and PEG, which is generally believed to be the safest material to vape?

This day 2 vaping for me. Haven't had a real smoke since my kit arrived yesterday.

I am not going to worry about the PG when the FDA has already appoved it as the suspention for nicotine in Nicotrol. The studies on pg use in Nicotrol are clean. Only issue that is there is the long term use as Nicotrol was never tested for use over 3 to 6 months.

I read the articles and I don't think it is the PG that concerns me but some of the flavors. It seems to me that many of the flavors have some kind of buttery taste so do they have the diacetyl in them.

Everyone says it has to be better than analogs but in reality it really doesn't and I would be really ...... if I quit analogs to get healthier and found out I killed myself sooner by vaping.

I would agree--there has been no testing with flavoring at all---it is a concern, but not even in the same league as an analog is what I am thinking.

Diacetyl is not in most Commercial E-Liquid as reported by the manufactures and as for DYI, Lorann and Bickford aslo do not have it in their flavorings.

But that still does not negate the issue of the effects of long term inhaling vaporized flavoring and we will just have to wait till futher studies are done.

We do know that analogs contain flavorings such as menthol and vanilla, so it is not totally new.

As I understood it the popcorn lung thing was from cooked (or cookING) inhaled butter flavorings not simply inhaled (or vaporized) and it was over several years not instantly.
I do enjoy the Butter rum and tbh I wont stop inhaling it even after reading the article.
We eat so many chemicals, whose interraction is unknown to us (by which I mean, the combinations are endless, we all eat different things even if the one chemical is found safe it may interract with another and become not so) that it's really not worth stressing out over imo.

I just asked a vendor I really like and he told me that if he knows it is in a flavor he doesn't use it BUT he uses Loranns and they are not very forthcoming in what is in their flavors so in reality, he doesn't know. That is what he said.

As I said, this issue is a very old one and I personally spoke with Lorann and they do not use Diacetyl. Nor does the main manufactures of e-liquid in China. The issue really is moot, but investigate more if you like.

We do inhalte it exactly the same way as those workers did, if it is in our liquids. It's heated, it vapourizes, it's in the air, it's inhaled. We do however most likely inhale very considerably less of it. But still, if it is in there, we do inhale it.

Hi Sun Vaporer,

I guess I didn't realize you actually spoke with Lorann. That is good to know. Thanks for telling me.
