Is the Provari Mini just as good?

Exactly the same components as the larger version, No difference there. The mini to me is more versatile as you can buy Tatroe extension rings to be able to fit all three size batteries in it.

To do this, you can buy the Provari mini extension cap and one Taroe ring or just buy two tatroe rings

Yeah, a good point. I just think the Tatroe ring look is kinda busted. I am in the minority on this issue, I understand.

I love my minis just the way they are with the standard cap. They fit perfectly in my hands and I think are easier to carry around than my full size one. Some people don't like the 18350 batteries, but they last long enough for me. If I'm going away for longer than 5 or 6 hours (which is about what I get) I just take a couple of extra batteries. Two 18350s in a case are smaller than a pack of cigarettes. And if that's too short a life for you, as others have said there are various extension options. You can make a mini bigger, but you can't make a full size smaller.

I'm not fond of it for me, either.

I have an extension for my Mini but it's not a Tatroe. I like having the option for use the larger batteries because I have those batteries anyway for the Reo Grand.

I was shocked to see how very small the mini is. I'm glad I ordered the extension piece, just waiting on the 18500 now.

Pictures often make the Provari look larger than life. I am satisfied with my purchase of the mini, versatility is always a plus for me. If you are a person who, say, wears an XL glove size the mini may seem a bit petite IMHO.

I wonder what the mini looks like in such a state. If only we knew someone with some pictures. Maybe one day I will have such an acquaintance....
Sounded like a cue if I ever heard one.
