I know this has probably been asked a thousand times, and the WET fan boys will certainly flock to this thread to defend their purchase, but let's be honest. Is the WET worth it?

The Wizard Evolved Titanium costs $550 USD and the reviews say it is a darn nice ecig, but my ProVari does almost exactly the same thing and I can buy 3 of them for that price.

OR I could get a ProVari, a ProVari Mini, 2 MVP2s, a VTR, and couple of bottles of Five Pawns for the same money.

Let's compare:

The WET comes with no ejuice.
The ProVari is almost the same exact same shape as the WET.
The WET does not have an enclosed tank like the VTR.
The WET does not come in black like the MVP2 and you even have to buy your own battery.
The WET is made of Titanium. Titanium is light, very light. That can't be good.
The WET DOES NOT COME in zombie green or hot pink! For $550, I want choices.

I will probably buy one, but I'm still not sure. Come on WET HEADS, tell me why I need this.

Okay, disclaimer first ... I do NOT own a WET.

That said, right off the bat there is a MAJOR difference. The Provari is a VV ONLY device, while the Wizard is a VW ONLY device (DNA20). This begs the question of whether or not you want VV or VW? I am a VW fan, for my vaping needs, it is much more consistent, which I like. I would choose the Wizard based on this alone.

The titanium body is definitely going to be light, but titanium is a VERY robust material, and I suspect it will hold up REALLY well, depending of course on the thickness of the body walls.

The WET is a tube style mod, it is not a fair comparison against the MVP 2 or the VTR, which are both box mods.

Colors??? If you want choices, then it sounds like the Provari is the way for you to go, or see if you can get a J-Wrap for the WET.

The REAL question, in my opinion, is it worth $550? That depends on your budget and desires. The DNA20 chip is about $50 or so, the other $500 of the WET goes into the design, manufacturing, sales, overhead, and warranty (1 year) costs ...

HTH!

I guess, like everything else, it's worth it if you want it bad enough. Some people like having products that not everyone has and at $550 it's bound to be pretty exclusive. Provari's are sort of the go to high-end VV and/or VW devices and, as such, might seem a little boring to some. I for one will not be buying any $550 APVs, but then some people have gobs of disposable income and thousands of dollars worth of mods and to them it's probably no big deal to drop that kind of money.

Where, may I ask, has a Provari owner ever questioned the price of his Provari?

I think he means that Provari owners might complain about the cost of THIS particular mod,,,,,550 bucks. I think he was joking, but I'd be surprised if there were any Provari owners that DO truly complain,,,,,,,,,,

I checked eBay and zombie green seems to have a good resale value.

A little worried about the ROI on the WET.

I would submit that if you are worried about ROI on a mod, then you are looking at the mod for the wrong reasons. I make ALL my purchases based on my "perceived" needs at the time, not what I can sell them for later. If I make wise decisions, then resale will NEVER be an issue for me. As always though ... YMMV!

Sorry for being such a noob on the WET thing. I just want to be sure the WET will be 3.459 times better than ProVari.

Shouldn't I expect 3 times more of something for my money, or is the ProVari an amazing bargain?

I don't think you should expect 3x more based on cost. What you should expect is that whatever you spend you will end up with an exceptional device that does what YOU need it to do. The cost is side issue to the question of whether or not it is worth it to you to get what you want/need.

HTH! :)

I too am a VW fan. But I could buy 50+ vamo's for that price.

Once you get past functionality my opinion is these things are like purses. You start paying more for name brands and aesthetics. Functionally a purse is a purse...I'm a guy btw so maybe I don't appreciate my wifes purses as much as others ;)

That being said if you have the disposable income and really like the aesthetics, name brand, warranty have at it. For me I'm more of functional man. If it does the trick already why pay more or upgrade.

I should note that disposables -> ego -> vv passthrough -> vamo I've noticed improvements each step of the way. So maybe if I tried the ProVari or this WET I may change my mind but I have a feeling that once you get into the mod stage it's going to more about the battery, attomizer, and juice, tank not leaking etc.

If I ever get a chance to get down to a B&M shop I'll be sure to try a few more out though.

For what it's worth, the DNA20 chip is fantastic! I had the chance to compare a DNA20 mod against my eVic, Legend, and VTR ... it blew all 3 of them away from a performance perspective. Now I just need to find an affordable DNA20 mod and I am all set!
