Is there a good reason to move past the Ego Twist

IMO this is a misstated function of VW devices. Yes they will adjust some with the resistance but you still have to dial it in just like a VV device. Also with the cheaper mods you have cheaper electronics so you have less accuracy. So you have to do more dialing in.

So if you think you can get a VW mod set it on 9W and then put on a LR 1.5 ohm atty then switch to a SR 3.0 ohm and your not going to have to adjust the power you will be disappointed.

So for me I dont see much difference in a VW over a VV

I pretty much set and forget all if my devices then fiddle with all of them. Except for my dripping attys, everything is roughly the same resistance, but my taste isn't. For some reason I like my ADV cooler in the morning and warmer in the evening. No matter what device it's on I press a button until it taste the way I like it. I have no clue what volts or power it's set to, I can't find my glasses. The only times I pay attention to resistance is when I'm ordering cartos and attys, and when I put a new one on a battery I check the ohms to make sure I got what I ordered.

Yea over time we kind of get in to an area of what we like. But sometimes I set up a 5+ ohm atty so I can crank up my DNA 20 to 20 just because I can;-)

is an 11 9% cheaper than a 20?

But 11 is one more than 10, it's one higher.

I can't imagine vaping at 20 watts. My clouds are big enough and I don't have to fiddle with little wires. :)

ETA: And back to the OP. One good reason to move beyond an eGo is the ability to join in debates about irrelevant minutia and derail other member's threads.

Im upping the resistance so its pretty much the same as vaping lower resistance at less voltage. I just like playing around with stuff if it goes to 20 I say why not make something you can use at 20;-)

Mine goes to 11.

Spinal tap...

All I need is a Sharpie. Mine will do 55 in a few minutes.

I am now sporting a rather phallic APV. I simply drive the Ego Twists pretty hard, and it gets up to 135F on location with the equipment running. The concern was the draw on the batteries, and the heat dissipation in the small Ego head unit on the twist. They vape as well as the APV- I built my coil and wick to perform with the Twist, and it does. At work earlier this week, I wish I had taken a picture of the faces of the long term vapers that tried my set-up with the Twists. It is hard to believe how well it works. The vape quality has a slight improvement with the APV, but that is only when the numb tongue is setting in at the end of the day. I still am going to predominantly use the Twists when in the office.

I have given up on a good box mod until I build one. I want the form factor. One of the big cons, to me, of the PV is the form factor. It hurts my finger joints to hold to d_mn thing. That may sound whiney, but my hands have taken a true beating over the years. It would also be nice to set the thing on a table without carrying a holder. In those regards, I really prefer the Twists. They are easier to hold, and I have a holder to set on tables that fits well in a pocket.

I say if you're happy with the twist there is no good reason to change. They perform well enough & with the vv you can have some control over your vape. If that's enough for you then no need to move into something else.

I like my twist best too personally. I have been looking at mods debating getting one, just because I'd like something that I can replace the batteries on rather than replacing the entire unit (like with an ego). But really I don't "love" the mods I've looked at so until I do I'll be sticking with the twist too.

If you care about watts that might be a reason to change. If you care about sub ohms that might be a reason to explore something else. However, if you're happy with your vape that's all that matters really.

To me the biggest reason to change would be lifespan theoretically a well made PV should last years with proper care and a twist with each charge is getting closer to fail.

So practically speaking if your still vaping close to a year after getting your twist you might consider a PV. But most of us are not practical so practical advice is not common here;-)

I don't really have any desire to move on from my Twists/Spinners. They give me the power that I need, I don't mind changing my battery once or twice a day, and they feel comfortable in my hand (something as big as a screwdriver handle seems awkward to me). After getting a couple of Spinners though, I don't see myself ever getting another Twist. The Spinner is shorter than the Twist (but slightly wider), and the numbers are very clear on my Spinners. My Twist was hard to read when it was brand new. Now the number are so worn down that it's nearly impossible to see what voltage it's set at.
