Look at this chart from Mooch on batteries. In the blue band at the bottom are recommended online vendors

Thanks by the way please... what is a mechanical mod?

Short answer...

No electronics (and their protections); direct path from battery to atomizer; stronger vaporization on a full battery but no control/adjustment of the voltage applied so it will fade as the battery charge drops.

Full attention must be paid to the resistance of the atomizer coil as that will determine the amp draw on the battery(s) and it can easily surpass the safe limits (lower res=higher amp draw).
And any sloppiness in building and installing the coil can produce a short, with a sudden unexpected increase in current draw.
Experience matters... like with handling a chainsaw, near your face. ;)

Safety first...don't drink and Mech. :D

The cheapest place to buy authentic cells I have found is Liion Wholesale Batteries | Li-ion battery distributor.

FYI, when you see anything about a mod blowing up in someone's hand, 9 times out of 10 it's someone who is using a mech and not knowing ohms law and shouldn't be using one. You must know and understand ohms law 100% before even looking into a mechanical mod. Do your homework first (how ohms law works and what it means for the marriage between your coil resistance and the amp draw on your battery/batteries.
