The plumeveil is a good atty but it's also very similar to the tobh so if you can't get a better vape from your tobh than your magma you will only end up saying the same about a plumeveil.
I think the atomic would be a good one for you as its a slightly smaller chamber.
The following pic shows how close i have my coil to the edge of the tobh atty, as close as i can possibly get to the air intake without actually touching the inside collar, so you would have to check for shorts once you have the top caps on, but imo it's worth the effort as i get better vapour and flavour than in the magma.

This is so true, not packing cotton under your coil will give your better flavor because you won't get a nasty cotton taste if you're using cotton the diameter of you're coil makes a difference in flavor as well also how much surface area you're covering.

I'm loving my Tugboats #1 & 2, Magma is 3.
Although, I love the well in the Magma but taste is better on the Tugs

That's interesting. But hey, taste is sooo subjective! The Tug is probably the most basic atty after the Patriot. Big chamber (compared to the "newer" flavor atty's) as well. I get SUPER muted and "fuzzy" vapor from them personally. I honestly cannot tell the difference between a Patriot and Tug in terms of flavor or vapor when both are set up identically. (Patriot's drilled out to match the tug)

Not an RDA but finally got a solid SS mesh set up on my Nahualon and tried a tried someone's Sat22... i've got to say... these new high end mesh gennys are heads and shoulders about our Magma's and Veritas(Veriti? lol). Low on the vapor for sure... but flavor and throat hit are stellar!

Magma still tops it for me. I have a Veritas and I do not find it to be any better. Besides the flavor, I think the Veritas design is terrible. I have no troubles building coils on anything, but the design on the Veritas is just pointless in my opinion. It is like they made it just for the sake of it being different. It takes way too much effort to put a coil on it unless it is a vertical coil with at least 10 wraps.

I would have to agree with others, my Veritas is better then my Magma but I enjoy both RDA's. The Veritas I use a single horizontal coil at 1 ohm and the flavor is outstanding. I find it easier to build, holds a lot of juice and doesn't leak. I am also a fan of several other drippers that I use all the time with my REO's being my go to with Atomic toppers.

People either love or hate the Veritas. I believe once you get the right build it can't be beat. The one other dripper that I believe blows away the Magma is the Viking but that's just my opinion. The Viking's craftsmanship is second to none, it has a deep well with the airflow directly under the coils and produces incredible flavor and vapor. My none Reo ranking:

Veritas
Viking
Magma
Brass Monkee
Atomic
CLT (taking the best of several drippers and placing them in a single package)

Ok, I just tried another build (vertical) on the veritas and I finally got it right. I am getting better flavor than the magma, but geez the veritas is a pain in the ... to build. The coil leg at the positive post is still getting red, but not too close to the post. I have enough rayon around it to keep it from turning red while it has juice. The only problem is that the top of the wick dries up pretty quick which has me a little concerned.

Overall, I'd probably recommend the magma just for the fact that it is much easier to build.

I've been using magma, tobh, omega all for a bit, and I've always felt that the magma had the best flavor. But I just got a smoktek caterpillar, and I'm honestly blown away by the flavor. I really wasn't expecting it to have great flavor because it's big and doesn't have a domed top - I mostly got it cuz it was cheap and the airflow control looked cool. But I'm really impressed with the flavor, I think I prefer it over the magma, and I love the airflow control. The airflow control on the magma always sorta annoyed me, having to reposition the ring every time I unscrew the top half; plus it has a tendency to whistle. I know it's a cheap, mass produced RDA, but I think it might be my favorite so far :)
