Hi,

So on the advice of some nice people on this board, I picked up an RTA, and have made my first coil.

26g Nicrome wire.
double coils
5 turns each ~ 0.25 (I don't have a ohm tester, but that's the readout on the box)

I'm using a Kanger Nano (purple EFest battery), with a smok Micro r2 tank.

The resistance is lower than I would have liked, but it was quite fiddly, and I'm actually really happy with the vape (good amount of vape and flavour). So if it's within safe perimeters, I'd be happy to stick with it.

I tried it on 27 watts, and then on 40 watts, both setting tasted great.

My only concern is that the resistance is too low, and it might unexpectedly blow up in my face... Does that sound like something that might happen?

I haven't noticed the battery getting hot.

The first set dint charge and the second set set on fire, after running it by good people on ecf they got me on Samsung 30qs. Definitely recommend them, although my main setups are all innokin internal battery mods I know the best batteries to be Samsung or lg. Aspire batteries are okay but battery life's not so good...

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, being a bit of newb, I didn't find out about rewraps until after I'd already bought the EFests. I have been meaning to switch them out. It's probably time for a change anyway... I've had them ~8 months now, so I'd say I got my money's worth out of them (and in their defence they've been fine). I'll definitely look into getting some Samsungs next.

Cos they are rewraps they could last a day or months but definitely get Samsung or lg. Your setup should be fine, hope you enjoy it. My latest setup is an MVP4 and an isub apex mini, got it a week ago an not put it down. I always love innokin mods, they are so solid! I drop them an they still survive. I dropped my smok alien an it shattered!

Yeah you're not putting too much stress on your batteries what that setup and in general regulated mods have safety cut offs and limits, and you're not putting a ton of current through your battery vaping a 0.25 at 40watts. (It'd be 3.16 volts and 12.6 amps through the battery) which is very safe, but if you ever wanted to get into higher wattage vaping or mech mods you'd need safer batteries. I almost learned that one the hard way and now my first thread on here is 4 pages of me being called out and lectured about it haha

In the future use steamengine.org to help you calculate your builds. Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

Or use an app like vape tool.

The kangertech topbox nano is capable of firing down to 0.15ohms. So you should be cool with your build. But low ohm builds will drain your battery fast as you are running a single 18650.
Keep having fun, and glad to see you are being safe.
