Is this normal? And suggestions...

I have an EGO CE4 Clearomizer which somehow always drips onto the freaking battery...how dangerous can this be to the device as far as ruining it goes? I only have one clearomizer and just ordered a lot of 5 on ebay for $10.99 (I posted the price because I feel that's a hell of a deal, but I guess these are cheap anyway).

Anyway, is this normal, etc etc?

Also, I am thinking of getting a VEA from Johnson Creek Smoke juice next month when I get my school refund, as well as other ecig stuff. I wanna get deep into the ECIG Community. I'm a heavy smoker, and need to quit analogs. What would you recommend other than VEA even if that? I want something easy to fill like the CE4, I DO NOT wanna drip, I am not that experienced yet, and I do not want a device that you can crank up the wattage, etc...

Thanks in advance for the help! You guys have been awesome. Help me out! Please!

Hello Harrison, welcome to ECF.
It is normal, annoying, but normal. Once your draw lightens to barely working, give it the old q-tip. It won't hurt nothing so no worries there. I have no experience with the VEA, I can't chime in there. I would say that eGos and clearos (evod, protank, vivi nova, CE4) are tried and true. If you are unhappy with your vape you could try a different clearo. Like a protank 2, and up your nicotine level. Personally I switched solely to vaping with a variable voltage ego and an evod after a 3 pack a day death sentence. Finding what will work for you will take a bit of trial and error. You will hear it a million times here, but it is true. There is a steep learning curve, but it is well worth it.

Harrison,

DanG summed it up well.. most every setup gets some juice on the battery contacts. (i usually just clean it with a paper towel) I also agree that it isn't a bad idea to use higher nic when starting out so that vaping becomes appealing. It can be pretty frustrating at times until you find stuff that works for you. Everyone seems to have different tastes and it takes experimenting to find your taste in vaping equipment and juice. Searching through the forum can yield a ton of info about all the different tank and cart options that are out there. Ebay usually isn't a good source for vape stuff. There are a bunch of online suppliers for ecig components and juice that are discussed and reviewed here.

My wife likes dct carto tanks on an ego-c twist, I drip 510 atomizers and bottom feed on various mechanical and variable voltage mods. It totally depends on what you like.

If you keep vaping and find what works for you the switch can naturally happen. It really helps big time though if you find something that is really satisfying. whatever that is..:vapor:

If it's only what would be a small amount of liquid on the battery connector that falls in the range of normal. It won't hurt anything as the liquids are, oddly enough, non conductive. You want to swab it out of the battery connector when you see it though to make better electrical contact between the device and your battery. Keep the post on your charger clean too.

If you like the overall experience of your CE4 a less expensive option than the VEA stuff from Johnson Creek would be any of the bottom coil clearos by Kanger. That could be between a plastic T3s clearo for 5 to 7 bucks, to a glass ProTank for between 13 to 20 bucks - depending on model and sales. Take a look at Sun-Vapers.com to see all the Kanger options. It's something better to try that will work on your current battery without blowing all that money on a VEA kit.

The Kanger BCC's are less fussy in general to keep working right that a CE4. The coils are replaceable for about $1.50. And if you are into tinkering you can learn to rebuild the Kanger coils yourself. (TONS of information on ECF about that subject.) If you really need to save money that helps, and you can get an even better vape experience building the coils to your own likes.

Bill's suggestion for a carto tank is also something to consider. Cartos can be cantankerous though and they are disposable items. If you make a mistake with a carto and burn it when dry you toss it. I think everyone should try a carto setup as part of their vape experience but for some folks getting them to work right can be a bit frustrating. That's why I tend to recommend Kanger BCC's to new vapers when you need an easy, consistent setup for a starter.

If I remember correctly, VEA's are a special unit built for Johnson Creek by Joyetech. This means that you will have the best eGo type battery out there, but it will only work with Johnson Creek products. A better alternative is a Joyetech eGo. It's the same thing, but it will cost less, and work with just about everything that has eGo or 510 threading (which is just about everything other than Johnson Creek).

I used the clearomizers for about a month and a half. The dripping, leaking, gurgling, bubbling was enough to make me want to smash them. I was always unscrewing them, cleaning the battery, twisting up a napkin or paper towel and sticking it up in the little atomizer hole to remove the liquid, and blowing through them to clear them about as much as puffing on them.

I bought a couple of Kanger mini tanks. MUCH MUCH MUCH better and didn't cost much more than a pack of discount clearomizers and they screw right onto the eGo threads. They are reusable, the coils are easily replaced and cheap, and I'd recommend at least trying them, they'll make the experience much more enjoyable.

The only downside I've really seen so far is that with 5-10 clearomizers I could fill each with a different flavor and experiment; with only one or two protanks you'll have to clean and refill to change flavors, but I just used the clearomizers to narrow down my favorites and then when I find one I like I fill the protank and vape away.

I second the recommendations of the genuine joytech ego battery and the protank2 mini. And I'll ad that you should go for the joytech ego pass through, that way you can still use the battery while it has a usb charging cord plugged in the bottom. That is the exact set up I got for my girlfriend after a hand full of months vaping myself and having tried many different options, I think protank 2 mini paired with joytech ego pass through is a low cost and low problem set up. It simply works well.

Get simple mini protank 2; maybe some EVODs; they use the same atomizer heads as some other tanks.

that's really bad there's leaking for CE4 clearomizer. also the price is a little high. as price is only $1.02 for CE6 clearomizer. it's better. also other no leaking clearomizers like Esmart, Evod, T3S, MT3S....

Even an Evod will have slight leaking it's due to design, as others have stated it's pretty normal just clean contacts once in while, also happens with tanks the Kamry x6 leaks "slightly" out the 510 connector, same as anything you need to put a little bit of time into upkeep.
