I bought some Wilton's Clear Vanilla Extract and find it to be the only vanilla extract that actually smells and tastes like vanilla, so I'd really like to use it. But I'm wondering if it's okay to use as the ingredients listed on the bottle are: water, ethyl alcohol, artificial flavors, citric acid, phosphoric acid, and BHT (preservative).

Is it safe to inhale those ingredients....or not?

Well, we consume phosphoric acid and BHT in a lot of common foods. (Phosphoric acid is in nearly all cola drinks, and BHT is in a ton of packaged foods. So we consume them in far greater quantities than you could possibly vape.) Citric acid I've heard people add to their liquid before or use to clean atomizers. Artificial flavors and ethyl alcohol -- those are already in many eliquids.

Are they okay on the lungs? I guess that's always the million dollar question. In the quantities needed to flavor a liquid, I'd feel safe trying it...but then again, I'd defer to other responders with more experience.

Madame Psychosis, your answer gives me some comfort indeed to believe that this vanilla may be okay to vape. Thanks for your whole explanation!

RenaissancePuffer, I found out you're right. Although it smells like the real thing, the flavor is very weak to the taste. I added about 10 gtts to my RY4 and although it considerably tamed down that taste I don't like so much, I really can't taste the vanilla in it. I'll have to try the vanilla with only VG and vodka and see how much vanilla it takes to actually taste it in the vape.
