Is this the dreaded vaper's fatigue?

Hello,

I'm very new here, so please forgive me if I'm going over well-trodden ground. I posted the other day after getting my new subtank nano I was overjoyed at how well it was vaping with a 1.2 coil (18-20W). Huge clouds and great flavour! I tried out three juices, all of which I loved and which tasted great. It was a very different experience than which I am used to. I'd never vaped directly into my lungs before. But it was heavenly! Anyway, after 3 or 4 days of heaven, all of a sudden, I picked up the nano, inhaled deeply, and Ugh... The flavour had almost disappeared. I could taste it, but it tasted as if it were 'watered down' Completely muted. Now, I have read about 'vaper's tongue' but can it really hit you that suddenly after a short period of time? Have I completely overloaded my senses? Like I say, loads of huge lung inhales after only previously being used to small mouth to lung hits on a mini nautilus.

I took my tank to the guy in the ecig shop over the road. Great guy! Anyway, he primed up a new coil and filled her up. He could taste it just fine. So I guess this is vaper's tongue

I'm so p****d off! Has anyone else experienced this? I've heard it's very common. I know about the dehydration thing and today I've been necking water like a mad woman! I've scrubbed my tongue, rinsed my mouth out...

After such a short period of utter joy, I now feel quite hopeless lol

Will I get the flavour back?

Drink some water then Cape, I find it helps, maybe try a different flavour as well. For me it comes and goes although oddly I have found spearmint chewing gum seems to remove it pretty quickly but it could just be me or that I seem to only vape berry flavours.

Hi @james28. Thank you. Yea I've been drinking water all day and switched flavours. But nothing is helping. My tongue still feels really dry though. So I may be quite dehydrated. Also, all my juices are similar. Desserts/custard types. So I guess this won't help! I'll keep drinking...

Thats common when you get used to a certain flavor at least in my experience . Try switching out to a flavor thats very different than what your currently using .

Your not getting burnt hits and no perceptible flavor at all are you ? If i have a flavor disappear i usually change my coil and more often than not the flavors back .


Oop's, just saw all your flavors are the same type , yeah thats tough.

Hi @herb No burnt hits, just incredibly watered down flavour. Like I say, the guy in the shop popped in a new coil and he could taste it fine. I'm still getting huge clouds! All my flavours are similar, so I should maybe pick up something new and different. What a pain in the actual .... lol

I was hit with it over and over my first 8 months after I quit smoking and sometimes it lasted more than a week at a time. Nothing helped me either, sorry.

Thank you @roxynoodle I'd read about it but didn't quite realise how awful it could be. So frustrating! I just needed some reassurance that it will pass. As long as I know it will pass!

Don't worry it will pass. I had it a few times when I started. Sniff some coffee grounds, eat something spicy, or maybe shock your tastebuds with lemon? It freaked me out so bad that when I got my tastebuds back I switched between different flavor profiles numerous times a day.

I get it frequently but if I am honest I only really buy one juice, but my god it's good. Not sure if it's available in the U.S. But it's Zeus juice the black reloaded. Very strong berry flavour which may help as to why when it hits me it only lasts either a day or a morning. Battle through it though you'll wake up and suddenly the flavour is back.

Thank you @Yiana! I will try your suggestions! It certainly seems worth my while getting some juices with different flavour profiles. Will have to wait till pay day

Your cure will be changing to very different flavor profiles when you notice this happening . Since switching up flavors i have never had to deal with VT knock wood.

It is a major pita for sure though , everything in life is a pain in my a_ _ to be honest , nothings as easy as it should be.

Too true. Nothing in life ever is! I'll grab some different juice when I get paid on Friday - whether it's gone by then or not.
