Had the same thing happen to me on Thursday. Woke up in the AM and boom can't taste anything. I went and got doublemint flavor juice and I could taste that NP. On Friday I was able to taste everything again. As I have been told, for a few months your taste buds will be on a roller coaster trying to get back to normal. So what might taste good today might not tomorrow. But never fear, it will sort itself out after a while....so I have been told lolll

Odd quirk here. Due in part to something from birth, lack sense of smell and only have little sense of taste as a result. I enjoy Hawk Sauce and recently found Whiskey Bent, it is a Carmel and whiskey flavor. I like Whiskey Bent because it's sweet. Hawk Sauce I like for the mixed berries with a hint of menthol. Find it difficult finding enjoyable flavors.

Not sure I would know vape tongue from normal every day sameness of being. Not seeking pity, merely putting out there. May consider getting flavors doubled up for a bit. I do this on odd occasion. It helps me to imagine tasting something at least.

For what it's worth to you, I never got this condition but from the start, I always had an evod and a Kayfun full. The Kayfun was Boba's Bounty and the EVOD a marlboro style tobacco.

Switching between the two probably spared me because they were so different.

So the flavor profile/lots of water ideas have merit.

Good luck to you!

A good strong menthal does it for me and like you I primarily like one type of flavours in my case fruit, I bought a bottle of red Astaire concentrate and have a tank of that throughout the day. Try and find a flavour outside of your norm and have it in daily rotation so your taste buds are not constantly bombarded with one type. If you don't make your own liquid tjuice have a range of premixed liquids all good strong flavours that help break up a routine.

Yep, definitely try doing a flavor rotation. There's a reason you don't eat the same food day after day. Why should your vaping being any different?
And sometimes you just need to set a favorite flavor aside for a period of time - days to weeks, depending - before it'll have that flavor come back for you. BTDT.

I can't find the link to the detailed explanation right now, but vaper's tongue is quite a missleading term. It has nothing to do with your tongue and tastebuds, more with your sense of smell. Brushing your tongue/teeth and stuff like that won't help much. Allegedly smelling ground coffee, menthol and some other stuff helps, i personally never tried it because i DIY, and when it hits i mix up 2 more flavors to rotate. Try keeping a rotation of 2-3 flavors, when one starts getting muted, switch to another :)

Just don't give up on your favorite juice, I have been vaping the same flavor day in and day out for over 6 months with no issues. I did get VT once early on and used a NETI pot with great results and has been smooth sailing ever since.

Then again I guess I'm a bit of an oddity one mod, one rda, and one juice. I'm that guy who finds one thing that works and then you can't pry it out of my hands.

It will pass. Some things help speed it up. I just let it ride now tho. Seems like when I first started vaping it would last forever, but seems when it happens now, I can usually just go brush my teeth and tongue really well, drink a couple of glasses of water and it starts getting better. The time it lasts seems to lessen the longer I vape.

A glass of water with a TON of lemon juice in it will help to cleanse your palate too. Menthol works, but if it's too strong, everything will taste like menthol for a while after you vape it. And the menthol flavor is damn near impossible to get out of a tank, so if you go that route, have a separate tank devoted to menthols. Best advice is to switch up flavors a couple of times a day to keep it from happening in the first place.

Another thing I have seen mentioned several times and makes sense because it is a palate cleanser is the pickled ginger slices you get with sushi. And it's a good reason to go out for sushi. :D

That's a really good idea. I never thought of pickled ginger. That is definitely a palate cleanser! I love that stuff.
