I love my triple twisted 32g gauge microcoil I have in my Russian she really puts out the flavor and vapor I can't wait till I have a good rda to try dual twisted micros in
Dont know about the technicality of it TBH, but I had some 34 Gauge wire which was very difficult to build a coil with, took 4 strands for a twisted wire and proceeded ahead with making a 1.7 Ohm coil. The differences between a normal 1.7 coil and twisted coil on kayfun that I felt were :
1) Takes more time to heat up for sure.
2) Dense Vapor
3) More Vapor
Cant completely say if the flavor improved or not.
Ive run twisted and un twisted builds in my drippers and the only difference i can see is the vapor production. in thinking about it the only thing i can see is that you are changing the shape of the surface of the wire by twisting it. even a thicker wire is still smooth but when you twist smaller wire to the same gauge as a thicker wire it has a different surface structure. same goes for flat/ribbon wire as opposed to round wire. to each his own i guess. i just started using thicker gauge wire because the difference between using 24g and twisting 28g wasnt worth the effort IMO
I used dual twisted 30 g for a while and I loved it, but recently have been building single parallel coils and it outperforms those in every way other than vapor production. Both take a little bit of effort but I'd rather save some wire and build parallels. Hopefully I'll be picking up some lower guage wire soon, been wanting to see how it performs in comparison.
I could see how there is more surface area BUT doesnt that mean there's also wasted surface area on the part that ISNT touching the coil??. ..I dont get it, my head hurts now
I find that my juice wants to naturally wick onto my coil when I have triple twisted. I used 32 gauge triple twisted and now 30 gauge triple twisted. If my cotton is wet, I can watch the juice flow from it right onto the coil. This might be why the flavor is stronger and why it seems to produce more flavor.
Only twisted coil I liked was the twisted 28. twisted 32 ok but not better then just a 6 wrap of 28ga.
now braided kicks .... takes more work but 4 strands of 32, braided hits like a beast. 5 wraps on a 5/32 drill bite micro coil style comes to .6. instant heat up, nice warm vape, huge clouds and the best flavor i have had.
I noticed on my twisted 28 gauge that my coils didnt gunk up as fast as my 26 gauge not twisted. I dont know why but the coil lasted way longer before having to dry burn and every juice I like is a coil gunker, unfortunately.
