It can be "douchebaggy".

The way I vape is definitely effected by my surroundings.

I use a mini setup in public (right now I'm rocking the Tarot Nano). That way I'm not blowing giant clouds from a dripper loaded with dual aliens at .12 ohms running 120 watts on a $150 mod. Non vapers don't appreciate that anyway. They just think I'm a douche.

When I'm around people I know at a party or something I really don't care. I just vape how I want and use whatever setup I want I just don't blow it in peoples face. I go to where the smokers go.

When I get the occasional/ rare impromptu comment about Vaping being worse than cigarettes I politely say wow that's interesting, so you're saying I should go back to smoking to be healthier? And then I ask them for their sources ( specific, not " I just heard" , or " saw it on the news" ) if they hang around that long they usually concede that they cannot name specifics.....I then ask them if they would like to hear " the rest of the story"...... Generally they are gone after that . I vape most everywhere.. discreetly.....If I have a patient that is a vaper I'll take the opportunity to have a vape with them....It's a treat for both of us

I vape in public, in my car, in my home, and wherever I please. It is very rare for anybody to say anything because I am totally comfortable with what I am doing, and I don't have any hang ups about it at all. Maybe that is part of the key, if one is comfortable with their actions, it draws less attention to ones self. Any time I have been approached about my vaping has been genuine curiousity, and I have had some pretty good discussions with those folks, whether they were fellow smokers/vapers, never smokers, and just inquisitive personalities. It boils down to how you carry yourself and how you respond to any inquiries...

Yeah, those things are also inconsiderate, but that wasn't the question. I could list 100 things people do that annoy me on a daily basis and I tolerate - but I still think the people who do those things are... d-bags

You clearly misread and misunderstood the post you partially quoted.

Context matters.

I only think vaping is "douchebaggy" (love the terminology) if you are doing it in a way that follows the current dirty stigma often implied by uneducated people example being: that kid with all the "swag" in his riced out civic blowing clouds into open car windows, walking through a mall and vaping, constantly telling people about your setup that just dont care/get it, or just being disrespectful in anyway associated with vaping.

Keep the boundaries and treat it like smoking, or even more considerate than analog smokers typically are and be a part of the solution like others have said in helping to reduce the idiotic stigma based around what we love to do. Help inform people with REAL facts with actual support to back you up. Good luck and happy vapes!

I'm the only one in my family who vapes, although some others like my dad smoke cigars.

I'm always afraid to vape in public cause I feel like people are gonna give me weird looks, I don't understand the hate against vaping and neither do my friends who vape.

Is it something I just shouldn't do around people?

Just about anything one does in Public can be Douchebaggiery. But it usually Isn't what you are doing. It's the Way you are doing it.

Standing 3 Feet Up Wind from a Store's Door and Blowing Clouds so shoppers look like they are coming out of the Tunnel at the Super Bowl can be Douchebaggiery. But standing 10 Feet Down Wind and blowing those same clouds Isn't.

When you Smoked Cigarettes, didn't you practice some Etiquette when you Smoked in Public? Like Turning your Head when you Exhaled so you didn't Blow Smoke in someone's Face? Or cracking your Car Window when you had a Non-Smoker in your car?

Nothing wrong with Vaping when you are in Public. Just do it with some Class.

When I was a smoker I used to hold my cigarettes out the window to spare passengers from the smoke emitting from the end of the cigarette but I don't do that with my MOD's! I also tend to blow the clouds out the window because I don't like sitting in a fog while driving. While plowing the other day I made the mistake of exhaling in the truck and had to open both windows for cross ventilation and then realized that the Fog was rolling in the window as the cloud was exiting.

The stigma associated with vaping was created by governments and spread by the news media. They've worked hard to demonize vaping in the public's eye and have won the battle of public opinion. Some vapers like to push back and blow clouds in crowded public places while others prefer to hide their activities and adopt stealth vaping tactics avoiding attention/detection. Personally, I'm somewhere in between. Right or wrong I've always applied the same rules for vaping as I did for smoking. I don't vape in public places simply out of respect for others. I do vape freely in my car and couldn't care less what others might think about it. I also vape freely when at home, if someone doesn't like it they can leave. I won't vape in someone else's home unless they're OK with it but may not stay long or visit as often if they aren't. If I were around someone with breathing/lung problems I wouldn't vape. It doesn't matter if vapor isn't harmful to others, it does matter that they've been made to think it is. Perception, not facts or reality, is all that really matters which is precisely why governments work so hard to (and are so good at) spreading malicious disinformation to the masses.

I love this. It's not always what you do, it's how you do it. I also vape like I smoked, with courtesy to those around me. If I'm somewhere that smoking would be ok I vape with confidence. When I first started I was a little unsure of myself but eventually said screw it. I plan on doing this a long time so there's no point in hiding it. My sister in law though only vapes in secret and smokes in public, says it makes her feel like "a hipster." She is getting a little better though.

I tend not to care what other people think. I've made up my mind about vaping and that's that.

Yes, i stealth vape in public. Everywhere.

Matter of fact, if someone saw me,, they'd think i was just picking my nose..

Well, lets be honest (and as a winner of the "In Up To the Knuckle" award) vaping and nose picking run neck and neck time wise for a lot of us.
