Is that orange? Didn't know they made an orange one. And I'd be a little skeptical with it not coming with a charger seeing as how they all are supposed to. Did you check the back of the box for the security code? I would check and see if its real. Its pretry ridiculous that they cloned something as cheap as the istick, but nonetheless it happened.

The 0.5 coil.

Well please don't hold me to this, but a .5ohm coil isn't that low in today's sub ohm world. I would think 20-25w's should be OK, just remember to keep an eye on the temp of the mod itself, and let it cool as needed. That's why I use 2-4 mods, plus I get the assortment of flavors.

I don't subohm on mine at all anymore, and yes, due to having several setups, I'm not pushing them hard. I don't think they are up to the task of being 50W mods. No venting, small controller and wiring.

Don't push them, don't let juice get in them, and don't leave them unattended on the charger. Yes, we shouldn't have to follow all these precautions, but we need to remember we bought cheap stuff. It is what it is. I don't plan to buy more, but I'm hoping the ones I have will last following precautions.

It's the old saying, you get what you pay for, like anything. Quality evolve DNA30 & 40w mods used to run $300 or more, now they can be had used and in good condition, for less than $150. With an evolve board, top notch switches, wiring, and batteries, these can be pushed and should last years. I'm hoping mine does anyway, I haven't even tested it above 25w's yet.

What is the lowest I should run on a 0.5 phm coil? Would 15 watts be good?

According to kanger, a .5 coil at 15w's is the suggested min, I start at 13w's and raise it when I can tell the liquid is flowing good, by taste and vapor. End up running 15w's and up to 20w's in a few days time. It all depends on each persons preferences really. Just stay aware of the temp of the mod itself, and you should be good.

Is lower wattage always best in order to not take any chances? What do you think of 15 watts?
Mine went wild with BLS when using it at 15w and 1.5 ohm coils so maybe you should not go above 10w. Get some old Kanger T3Ss with 2.8ohm coils. Second thought maybe 8 watts, you don't want to be maxin out it's limitations. I think most of these problems might be occurring from people runnin over 10 watts and vaping more than twice an week. I have 2. My replacement is working fine so far and my old one I got at the same time as the BLS unit is regularly sub ohmed with at up to 28 watts. I like it when people blame "user error" for their Faulty Fifties and attribute theirs working "just fine" to their more knowledgeable "proper and intended" use. They work great when they work and that's why I think the problems are minor but they are quite frequent. I can say that because I have had a 100% defective rate with the first 3 from 2 different vendors. 2 were total fails. I know of similar experiences. I also know ones who have 4 or more with no issues at all. Personally, I don't think you are over working yours at your settings. Chances are it won't, but it can fail regardless of what you do. If it does use the 90 day warranty. Keep your box and sales receipt. (Sweet Vapes is reported to be only standing behind a 30 day warranty). Evape.us and others support the manufacturers 90 day warranty.

There's been a lot of problems with the DNA40 chips, especially in regards to the temperature control. Personally I would rather have a Yihi chipped device than a DNA these days.

And the price of DNA equipped devices has dropped substantially. You can get brand new real Hana Modz DNA 40 boxes for $150 if you're willing to accept a minor blemish or two on the finish.

Their DNA 30 devices are just $80 with slight blemishes.

In my opinion, and we all know what that can be, just because the specs say one thing, doesn't mean they can be ran like that all the time. A car can easily exceed 100mph, but if we do that all the time, we'll be car shopping a lot sooner than if we drove it normally.
Yeah but most of us drive at least 60mph. 30w is to 50w as 60mph is to 100mph. They won't even let you drive on the interstates below 45mph. :)

Same goes for the 30W? I used to charge my Joyetech EgoONE overnight with no problem.
I have three 30s, all problem free. They get a little warm while charging, not hot.
I've heard of a few people having severe problems with their 50s, but I haven't yet seen
a report of BLS (fires without human intervention) for the 30. I'm holding off on buying a 50 to give eleaf time to diagnose and fix the problem with that model.
I usually vape with the standard GS Air or GS Air M coil, 1.5 ohms, at under 10 watts.
While my three units, out of production runs of many thousands, is too small a sample to predict performance for your unit, you may wish to consider it as part of the collective data.

I don't use temp control with mine, I got it for quality. If an evolve product fails within 1yr, they will repair it free, even custom and home builds, just send the entire mod, and they'll repair it.

The first two versions of the dna40 had issues, and they replaced everyone's boards free. The third version seems to be OK, but I don't use temp control so I'm not worried.
