This really has me thinking about getting the VS dna 30. It's $120 and I actually like the internal battery component. I have an istick and love the form factor and battery life but am disappointed that it uses Vavg. Off to watch some reviews.

The istick has a better battery than the VS DNA 30.

Thanks for the help.

I think I'm just going to either look around for a deal on a vaporshark DNA or save up a bit more and get the rDNA. If I can't find a good enough deal on a DNA and can't wait for a rDNA then I guess I will just go with a istick because of the better battery life.
I'm going to get a ehpro kayfun lite 2.0 clone and some pre-built 1.2ohms - 1.5ohms microcoils and some cotton and I should be good to go I think!? :)

Starting with pre-built coils is ok, but making them and installing them on a kayfun is pretty easy if you keep it simple. Also, wicking can be an issue if you're using a real small diameter coil with thick juice. What pg/vg ratio and what diameter coil will you be using?

Right now I'm using 50/50 juice and I'm not sure.. there are a lot of sellers on ebay that sell pre-built coils. All kinds of gauge, diameter, number of wraps..etc.

50/50 should wick fine in a smallish coil. I use 100% vg and found wrapping around a 7/64 bit works real well. Any smaller and it struggled to keep up when chain vaping. Also, 28g is a real good wire to start with in a kayfun when you have plenty of power available. A decent starting point for your gear and juice might be 5/64, 3/32, or 7/64 coil i.d., 28g wire somewhere around 1.5 - 2.0 ohms. That should handle the 10-20watt range well.

This seller:
Kanthal A1 26g Pre Built Micro Coils Torched RBA RDA Kayfun Dripper | eBay

Sells a 26g 3/32 id coil. But the lowest the highest they go in ohms is 1.2.
You think that will work okay? If my juice starts to burn I can just turn down the watts and it should still work okay right?

Or do higher watts produce more flavor?

28g, 3/32id, close to 2ohm would work real nice.
I'll give you my best setup so far for comparison. (Remember I use thick juice so I need a slightly larger coil.)
28g wire
7/64 inch inner diameter coil
9 wraps for total of 1.8 ohm
Cotton wick
18watts
I can chain vape this setup and get thick, flavorful vapor without guzzling juice or worry about melting insulators or something crazy. Just a solid, satisfying build. The nice thing about a rebuildable is if you start with a nice middle of the road build and use it for a little while, you'll figure out pretty quick what you need to do to dial it in for your preferences. More heat, less heat, quicker ramp up, etc....

I'm excited :)
No more buying kanger coils off ebay all the time.

I have to say I still can't decide what battery to get though.. I decided the vaporshark rDNA is a little too spendy for me, and the DNA, iStick and MVP I don't like that you can't change the battery.
So I was looking at a 30w cana clone. You think that would be a good choice? For $40-$80 I hope it's not a piece of cheap chinese crap that's going to break on me in under a month.. That's my only concern.

I got a hana 30w clone from focalecig for $43. It's working very well. The nice thing about a hana modz style box is its easy to find replacement parts and rebuild yourself if you're so inclined. Mine will be getting a fatdaddyvapes 510 connector soon. If anything else fails, I can replace it. You can actually buy every part seperately and build the whole thing if you want.

That's nice to hear. :) A completely rebuildable mod to go with rebuildable atty.
If I wanted to pair the kayfun v2 clone with hana modz clone will I need a 510 adapter?

No, it only has a 510 connector. You can get adapters for ego threaded tanks, but a kayfun will screw right in.

This is a kayfun 3.1 so it's taller than a lite.
