Just want to vent a little. If you are in any way associated with the U.S.P.S., Merry Holidays, Happy ChrisHannukkamis, Season's Greetings and the like. Best wishes from me and mine to you and your's.
You probably won't want to read any further. :)

I ordered two items. Let us begin with my wife's GMen.
Dec. 5 6:48 PM - Accepted at the sort facility, Bellingham Washington (Upper Left)
Dec. 6 11:59 PM - Processed through Mobile Alabama (Lower Right)
Crossed the country in 29hrs 11min (via plane obviously)
I will get it tomorrow.

And then there was...
Ohm/Volt Meter
Dec 2 9:36 AM Processed through City of Industry California (Lower Left)
Dec 3 12:39 AM Departed Same (That's 27hrs 3 mins)
Dec 7 12:53 AM Processed through Birmingham Alabama(200 miles away)
Crossed the country in just over 5 days.
I think I will get it tomorrow.

Anything else I could add would just get {Moderated}

Welcome to USPS downsizing.

I don't think they even took future Holiday deliveries into consideration. Package rerouting has become a joke. Average Delivery times are now a Myth and more Pot Luck than not.

FL to MD, first class has been 3 days for YEARS
My Package logged into USPS in FL on 12/2
Arrived Baltimore Md 12/7
Still has to be sorted, Sent to Williamsport Md, Sorted, Dispatched and delivered.
I'm guessing UPSP is now HalfFast:laugh:

If a package sits in a facility for more than 2 days on day 3 I am on the phone. I tell them the package must be lost since it has not been updated. Most of them get anoyed with me but when they tell me to wait a few days I say no I want to report it lost. They must do somthing becouse after that I have seen it clear the main post office and our local and delivered all in the same day. I believe the squeeky wheel gets the grease.

I'm not sure what the problem is. The mail gets routed in ways no human could ever understand...

Don't know about America, but in the UK they send it from one place to a random place and keep doing this until it gets within 50 miles then they toss a coin to see if it gets delivered on sent on to the next random destination.

Try living on an island in the gulf of Alaska, lol! USPS Priority is fine, usually 5 days because it comes by air. First class, 7-14 days. Not sure how that comes. Standard shipping (parcel post) it goes to Washington then gets on a barge... Barges take about 3 weeks to get to Anchorage then it gets flown over to here. Total wait times are anywhere from 3 1/2 weeks to 6 weeks! If it's too windy or foggy the mail planes don't fly, and we are considered a temperate rainforest so you can imagine how often that happens. When I hear complaints from mainlanders about their mail service I can't help but chuckle... Seriously though, I understand your struggles with the USPS, but I feel fortunate to have them. There is no UPS or Fedex office here.

I ordered 3 things, last Monday (the 1st). One of them got shipped the next day, the 2nd, from someplace in Utah. On the 3rd, it said it left Salt Lake City. AND THEN IT NEVER CHANGED UNTIL TODAY! when it finally said it hit Atlanta.

In what universe does something take 4 days to go from Salt Lake city to Atlanta? What'd they use, the freaking Pony Express????? :-x

One of the things I ordered was from NC, which ain't very far from Atlanta -- it took 2 days to get from NC to Atlanta???? and then, it got to ATL one evening around 8pm... AND THEY COULDN'T MOVE IT 25 MILES BY THE NEXT MORNING????????? :-x

I'm as fed up with the mail as I am with the FDA! :-x

The Pony Express was more efficient.

Um, yeah…I ordered something on Cyber Monday. It went from California to North Carolina in one day and arrived at the main post office in my hometown on Wednesday at 6 a.m. It took the remainder of the week for someone from the main post office to drive it the literal five miles to my house to put it in my mail box. I got it yesterday afternoon.

Your guess is as good as mine, friend.
