I got caught up on a few things yesterday, so I decided I was gonna try and punch a carto. Well I don't have a carto punch yet. Scratching my head for a while. I got it I'll use my Dremel and drill it. Grab the tank (full of course), Get the Dremel +1/8th drill bit, And being as smart as I am I grab an OLD carto to experment with. I carefully mark where I want the hole. Grab the Dremel fire it up around 30,000 rpm and proceed to do a lot of scratching on the carto. I forgot it was Stainless Steel. Idea comes to mind. I'll use a center punch to get things started. Go to the garage and find a good center punch and grab a hammer. (Keep in mind I use to be an industrial maintenance tech, so most of my tools are what would be used in a factory.) Lay the poor little carto on the workbench, place the center punch where I want it and then SMACK it with a 16oz ball peen hammer. Needless to say it was more than a little distorted. Starting to laugh at myself at this point I go get another carto and smack it just like the first. (All the cartos used were old and no good). Decide to slot one. I watched PBusardo's video. Well I tend to get a bit carried away with power tools and sharp things. After it was all over with, I picked up both pieces of the carto and looked inside. Well at least I know what they look like on the inside now. Threw both pieces in the trash and decided that I'll just get a carto punch
"Disclaimer" No harm was caused to any tank but ALL cartos involved in this story were harmed destroyed and put to rest!!!!

I use a sheetrock screw (nice and sharp) laid on a large clamp and give it a medium tap with a hammer and then a much softer one to make the hole a little bigger

you've clearly got a dremel tool. switch out the bit to a mini cut off wheel and slot it! no more punchin the munchkin... i mean carto

I still think this is probably the best carto punch around. I use it daily and it never disappoints. Replacement screws are easy to get and it's cheap.
