Xtreme got me onto this cotton. I was happy with cotton hemp but this stuff is something different. I use organic cotton balls from cvs in my drippers. This cotton X man got me hooked on solves my GG attys. the ithaka has never tasted so good and the juice is pure from the very first pull but only after I reach my 20 min boil. And the penny? Well I'm not "priming" the juice flow by closing and re opening the mp every 4-5 pulls. I can actually chain vape the damn thing. The worse I found is after 25 pulls I may need a quick prime. Leaps and bounds above anything I've ever tasted with ithaka or Penelope.
I'm flying high right now as everything is shining through. The flavor and vapor are amazing. Th is spot on.

Wait. Am I still sleeping? :)

That's great to hear Yankee. I'm using cotton balls and microcoils in all my non gg atties for a while now. I can't wait to try them on the gg's.

I only tried cotton balls in GG once it twice. It's a matter of getting the right amount which I didn't. But the cotton yarn works VERY well in GG atty.

thank you for the response!
so this would be what you would recommend as the best wick for the ithaka?
with basic feeding open?
i plan on making a dual coil with 1.8 ohm ready wire.

up to this purchase ill have only used silica :)
I am no expert and also pretty much a newb so...
There is no such thing as best and all opinions are subjective. There are pros and cons with either silica or cotton. For example silica can dry burn cotton you cannot. Different juices also can make a difference. As always YMMV.
Many have experieced that the cotton gives very good flavor. I have only recently tried this cotton. Boil for 20 minutes gets rid of the cotton taste and wick breakin. My juice is 50/50 I have basic feed closed and open mouthpiece maybe 2-3 turns and seems to work. I will try and tweak mine with different ohm setups. GL

The sugar n cream has elevated my vaping experience with all GG attys. running dual coils in ithaka at about .7 ohms. Rock star. I don't believe I ever had a vape this freakin good. No joke. Cotton hemp was good. Silica is good. This is on a different level.
Ithaka. Dual coil. Single wick in channels. Double wick at coil. Setup on X. Each at 1.5ohms, about .7 ohm total. On? A TS. Basic feed wide open. Mp open as needed depending on juice.

How long are these cotton wicks lasting ya?

Too early to say yet. I setup one penny and one ithaka Saturday. A second of each yesterday. I figure the way it's going I'll get no less than I did with silica. 4-7 days depending in juice. The biggest trick I've ruled out is boiling for less than 20 mins still left a cotton taste. 20 mins. Let it go. Then cut what you need and microwave it dry. Let the rest air dry.

Thank you very much Yanakee! I'm sold by your praise for this set up!
So i should wrap the coil around two wicks, then cut one of them before they reach the ceramic. Open the basic feed, so that both wicks on both sides are in view of the slot (hole). Not sure what " A TS." means, or if it is just a phrase, it is still lost on me :)
And you open the MP as needed, or just with thicker juice.
Previously i had been opening it for a few seconds every 4-5 pulls. I hadn't considered leaving it open, even slightly, somehow i thought this would cause flooding.
So much to take into account with an Ithaka! I had only used a v1 phoenix and an igo-l until now! (i just ordered two more rebuildables this week!)
Thanks you for minimizing a lot of my trial and error. I have very little free time after work due to the little guy, and have been ignoring a lot of my vape grunt work :)

TS = GGTS

Exactly as you said:

Wrap your coil around two wicks. Trim the top wick at the edge. What you should get after is one full length going down the channels, a second at the top. Make two setups like this for dual coil. Cross them in X formation. Go ahead and let the coils touch each other. There's no need for a further sandwich wick. Basic feed is on both holes so both wicks are exposed. BUT....IMPORTANT - don't test the setup without putting a few drops of juice on the coils. Let those drops soak in a little. Test and make sure it fires. Then wet the channels and coils again.

Fill the tank and open the MP a turn or so. Take a few pulls. Adjust the MP as you taste it go dry. Don't panic if you taste it dryer. It's not burning the cotton ... yet. Just open MP more. I have some juices that I cape with only 1 turn, and some I need 3 turns so it's a matter of how you're juice goes. If you do open it too much, yes, you can flood it. But, the solution is easy. Close the MP and take a few pulls. You'll taste it dryer, then start over. Once you learn the sweet spot for the juice you're vaping, it will usually be the same each time. So, don't be afraid to flood. That just means that that is just above the MAX turns you use.

Just remember - I've done 3 different boil lengths. When I reached 20 minutes, that generated the best taste immediately. Anything shorter still left a cotton taste. For me anyway.

I have done a LOT of testing. I've gone through the Eko, Twik, Cotton hemp, etc. I've tried full setups, Mr Krinkle, a hybrid Krinkle (one full left still in the channel). I've watched several videos, read many posts. Much of this is credit to so many honestly. I've watched many videos and read many posts. I know Capt Steve had some info he's shared, Bishop certainly comes to mind. River has banged his head into a wall as well. Man I can't even fairly hand out credit. It's little things you pick up - from here, there, etc.

Bottom line is this cotton, when done this way for me, has the most pure, real taste, full flavor, TH, and vapor from the VERY first pull. No seasoning.

I will also add that with silica, AND cotton hemp, on my Penelope, I had to close and open the MP every 4-5 pulls to prime the wick and enjoy it again. With this cotton? IF I have to "prime" it, it's after 20 pulls of chain vape.
