Thats fantastic!
I cant wait to try this out! I will be ordering the yarn tonight or tmw.
Thank you for your help and advice and cumulative knowledge! I have one more question that i neglected in my previous post. should i change the nut to the slightly larger one that came with the ithaka?
TS = GGTS

Exactly as you said:

Wrap your coil around two wicks. Trim the top wick at the edge. What you should get after is one full length going down the channels, a second at the top. Make two setups like this for dual coil. Cross them in X formation. Go ahead and let the coils touch each other. There's no need for a further sandwich wick. Basic feed is on both holes so both wicks are exposed. BUT....IMPORTANT - don't test the setup without putting a few drops of juice on the coils. Let those drops soak in a little. Test and make sure it fires. Then wet the channels and coils again.

Fill the tank and open the MP a turn or so. Take a few pulls. Adjust the MP as you taste it go dry. Don't panic if you taste it dryer. It's not burning the cotton ... yet. Just open MP more. I have some juices that I cape with only 1 turn, and some I need 3 turns so it's a matter of how you're juice goes. If you do open it too much, yes, you can flood it. But, the solution is easy. Close the MP and take a few pulls. You'll taste it dryer, then start over. Once you learn the sweet spot for the juice you're vaping, it will usually be the same each time. So, don't be afraid to flood. That just means that that is just above the MAX turns you use.

Just remember - I've done 3 different boil lengths. When I reached 20 minutes, that generated the best taste immediately. Anything shorter still left a cotton taste. For me anyway.

I have done a LOT of testing. I've gone through the Eko, Twik, Cotton hemp, etc. I've tried full setups, Mr Krinkle, a hybrid Krinkle (one full left still in the channel). I've watched several videos, read many posts. Much of this is credit to so many honestly. I've watched many videos and read many posts. I know Capt Steve had some info he's shared, Bishop certainly comes to mind. River has banged his head into a wall as well. Man I can't even fairly hand out credit. It's little things you pick up - from here, there, etc.

Bottom line is this cotton, when done this way for me, has the most pure, real taste, full flavor, TH, and vapor from the VERY first pull. No seasoning.

I will also add that with silica, AND cotton hemp, on my Penelope, I had to close and open the MP every 4-5 pulls to prime the wick and enjoy it again. With this cotton? IF I have to "prime" it, it's after 20 pulls of chain vape.

I can vouch for the Martha Stewart cotton hemp yarn - I love the stuff!
I admit I've been using silica the past couple times, though. I would use more cotton but it seems to gunk up faster than silica - that wouldn't be a big deal if my juice didn't gunk up coils super fast already... when I make a new juice I am going to keep the gunkage in mind and try to come up with something that lasts longer! Then it's back to cotton/hemp for me.

Yes. Indeed. And to have Penelope working almost normal was the bonus.
I did post the pic if the stand. I THINK dspin posted that stand once before and that's where I got the idea. We ended up with 3 of those. :)

Those damn vg juices are killers. They gunk quick. Twice as thick if it's a dark juice. Oddly the 50/50 not as bad. I have a tropical tobac from juice mafia that lasts longer. I've not ordered Bobas in a while for a few reasons. Availability, hours of operation (orders open for 5 mins), and I'm trying to find good juice at different price points

Besides all that, Bobas only seems to last me two days before it destroys my coils.

Yeah I would like to order Boba's again, but I have so many DIY supplies and vowed to never order from AVE again.
And yeah, the juice I use is 70/30 vg/pg and about as dark as Boba's Bounty, but it gunks WAY faster than it. I think it's because I'm using this maple flavor that has real maple syrup in it, so the sugars are probably gunking it bad. I still have a few other maple flavors I will try..
Boba's was so good, though.. mmmm... now I want some!

It has actual maple? Holy crap. That will finish the coils in a heartbeat.

Well, it's a flavor from Lorann Oils, but I got the wrong one.. they have one that contains real maple syrup (probably some sort of extract?) and one doesn't... the thing that sucks though is that the real maple flavor tastes WAY better.. but I've still got some experimenting to do!

Off topic but quickly .... Check into natures flavors. All natural.

Yup I've got a maple flavor from them I believe! I still need to test all the flavors.. I forget which one I liked the most, I think it may have been Natures or FlavorArt.

Oh and also.. I actually am not sure if the Lorann maple (not the one with real maple) tastes worse, I was thinking of Capella.. that one was gross.. I may have used way too much though.

So many maples I can't keep track of them all!

Sometimes less is more. Some only need a drop or two.

That's what test batch's are all about. Mixing multiple small bottles with different percentages of flavoring. Best way to nail it down really. Personally I find to my taste that less is better most of the time. But more so with multiple flavors being mixed.:2c:

Exactly right! Jojo does the mixing. It's a matter of what flavors, finding the dominant flavor, and many times how many flavors are in a juice. Our challenge will be to make a boba clone that's close enough. That should take .... A few months. But I should go to DIY threads and not here with the ithaka it will vape in. :)

Or do both. I do read thru both depends what is going on with my mixing. I
have been at Boba's for a while now. I get close but don't nail it yet. I also kick myself for spending so much time on a juice that WRECKS coils so quickly. Hoping to find the mix then play with contents of it not to wreck coils as fast.:toast:

Good thinking. Why reinvent another coil killer. I'm on el Kamino and trop tobac now. Delish. :)

It seems I've been tightening down the coil assembly with too much force, because I finally shredded the o-ring below the lower NR wire, at the bottom of the assembly. I ordered a bucket of every size of o-ring, which I received today. I decided to switch out Pluid for Maha Ras, now that I can vape these juices in the SS Ithaka.

It's not that the Maha Ras is better than in my Divers, it's just completely different. It's a bit smoother in the Ithaka, and a different set of flavors comes out. Delicious.

What would we do without our wonderful Greeks creating this epic gear? We'd probably have to create them in a lab using positronic matrices to hold their consciousness in android bodies.

Yeah that's my dilemma... I love tobacco and dark flavors.. anything I like ends up destroying my coils.. of course. Luckily for me, I honestly don't know any better. I've never had a juice that didn't kill my coils so at this point I'm just used to it. I would probably be amazed if I ever started vaping fruit flavors at how long my coils would last!
