many people name the gurgling leakage fix. Thats why you see enough posts about leakage when its not. Οthers see the humidity under the base of Ithaka and they name it leakage. Others have gurgling because they dont clean their CT and they think ithaka is gurgling, when the gurgling is because of liquid inside CT.
Well, I never has a leaking, in my day to day life, thanks God, and I always used the BF opened at the two channels but the only trouble that I has was that small gurgling when I put the e-liquid in the Ithaka.

I only has trouble of leaks one day when was traveling and change the altitude from 2,100 meters above see level to 3,200 meters and the to 1,200 meter and just in that time I was having the leaks and any more, so for me that doesn't count because was for the different atmosferic pressure that happen so the next time that I pass for this road I spend all time vaping and has no leaks anymore.

Cheers

My results are the exact opposite. If I leave the BF open and put the mod/tank in my jacket pocket, the heat build up will cause flooding. I build them with the BF closed and if I put them where I think they'll get warm, I close the manual control too.

I have to do the same. My liquid is somewhat thin and excessive heat will cause a pressure change and flood.

I've bought my Ithaka from e-smoke guru a few months back.
Ever since then I can't manage to unscrew bottom ring from the base.
I've tried heating it with hot water, freezing it in deep freeze, nothing seems to help (even with rubber gloves).
I don't feel my fingers anymore :D
Now I've tried to put some e-juice around edges, hopefully it will find it's way down in the threads.
Is there anything else I could try before I use pliers (really don't wan't to use them).
Thank's in advance!

No problem to use a plier.
Just put a kitchen towel below.
Put the plier on the base, and hold it tight were there are 2 slots there not horizenly.
Better to use thin plier that it blades can seat in the slots,(long nose plier is better)
Between the blades of the plier and the Ithaka GGTS base you put the kitchen towel, and make sure the
Towel is thick enough so there want be any mark left on the Ithaka.
And hold the engrave part in your hand ,then turn the engrave part ( not the plier):)

I could use a second SS window for my second Ithaka.

I've started setting her up with the channels aligned with the BF. I can keep the liquid control fully closed this way, and find the liquid feeds perfectly this way.

The BF is an awesome feature and at least for me it works perfectly. Right now I have it off just because I like changing things around but I use it often. The only issue I have is when refilling the tank it might flood the atomiser but that's easy to remedy by filling it upside down.

I'm considering in buying one of these pliers for those kind of tasks:

I use pliers when needed. But I try not to tighten it to the point where it will be needed. It will work properly without the level of tightening which will later need pliers to remove the BF.

Please send to Imeo before you use pliers. They are a sure way of ruining your day which isn't to good to start with.

just send it to me S1 or go to a local machine shop

Thank you, my friend! I'll try to find someone locally first. Maybe some contest tomorrow at work. A few beers for reward :) There are 50 people there, so by the end of the day, threads should give up :D

Wrap the base in rubber bands before applying pliers. Make the rubber bands tight and cover all the stainless steel so the pliers cannot harm it. Wrap the engraved part also if you want more grip. Shouldn't be a problem. Good luck.

Or goto a professional for help.

I had the same problem a while back when I received my Ithaka from a private seller. There was no way I was hoping to chance scratching it, then it hit me. My wife had a bunch of those rubber bracelets for breast cancer. I took two of then with pliers, worked wonderful!

a pair of strap wrenches could work if the rubber band method doesn't something like this

Alltrade 070008 2 Piece Got Wrench Set (colors may vary) - Amazon.com

I've managed to unscrew those two :D
I've screwed on the SS tank tight, and managed to unscrew bottom part from the base together with SS tank.
Thank you all for your help and suggestions!

Side question.
Anyone with an ithaka and calipers
Can you PM me the diameter of the top 16x1 oring channel on the upper body? Pull oring out and provide the diameter in the oring channel?
PM is perfect so this doesn't get hijacked on the thread. No rush. Next rebuild is fine.
If you can grab the same measurement for the base, that'd be great. Windows not necessary.
Thank you.
