I think if you already ordered 3.5mm wick, is ok, because you can always remove some strands to suit your preferences: "It's better to have too much than not enough"

What are CE and ROSH certificates? Im guessing they attest to the safety of the silica wick for vaping purposes???
LOL. Same here. Have a 3.5 mm silica I am finishing off, one in the wings, and one coming with the ithakas. I can't remember who but another poster suggested trimming 3 wicks from the channels and that has worked great for the oddy's/pennys so will be doing that.
I sometimes use 3mm in Ody. I would assume 3.5 will work but snug as ody. Besides, 3.5 is easy to destrand. I'm game either way. I'm all stocked and ready.

The whole issue with mesh vs silica is a bit pointless imo since GG's have always been the pinnacle of silica-atomizers.

So really just do like I do with peny/ody now then. I could wrap a coil around 3.5 mm wick, and then trim off 3 strands from each side before installing in the rebuildable. It's just been nice cause the 3.5 seems to hold a good amount of juice at the coil.
It doesn't bother me doing this with the ody/peny. Only takes a few extra seconds, plus gives me more wick at the coil so it is worth it.
you can just put more wick on top only Long. But as I said, your way is not bad at all
