very glad to hear that buddy, have a nice vapinGGG buddy!:)
Ithaka arrived today and set it up this evening with the wick and wire it comes with, single coil dual wick @ 1.8 ohm. It's vaping excellently and very very happy with it, thanks Imeo and esmoke-guru.
It looks damn good too.

I think we will need a bit more information. Which welder are you using? Is it tacking but not holding? Is it just melting the tips off? Are you overlapping or trying to touch end-to-end?

I made my own welder using capacitors from disposable cameras, and I found that I ended up with stronger welds with lower voltages than some people. 65 was my magic number with 32 ga Kanthol and 32 ga NR. You might try adjusting the voltage up or down to see what works best for you.

Taking but not holding, tried side to side and end to end. Using 30 gauge nr wire

Which welder are you using? Try adjusting the voltage if it is tacking but not holding. Dont try to go end-to-end, overlap 1mm.

I am assuming you are talking about The Zapper from juice Kitchen UK. Here is an excerpt from the description.

"There are no settings to change voltage/charge, the way it works is the longer you hold the button the more charge is created, depending on what wires you use will determine how much charge is needed."

Try changing the length of time you hold the charge button. If you have a decent multi-meter you can measure it that way. Thats about all I can say.

your sweet spot voltage depends on the capacitance of your capacitor in use. I wouldn't give out numbers. It is trial and error. I am using two different capacitors, with different capacitance levels, so my sweet spot voltage is different on each.
Using a higher capacitance capacitor, lower voltages gives better and much much much stronger welds than using lower capacitance capacitors with higher voltages...

The only difference the lower rated caps means is it's harder to fine tune it, the charge is much the same. It's the amount of Joules that's the sweet spot. (very basic description lol)

Nickel is by far the best imo for no-res for use with wire welders especially my Zapper, Kanthal or NiChrome there's not much difference for your res wire. Silver is almost impossible because of not being able to fine tune well really and i'd stay away from it myself. Attaching a multimeter and fine tuning would be the best way to go, you can also try swapping the wires around so if you've been having the no-res in the left socket try it in the right, it does make a difference whether the no-res is in the positive or negative clip.

Quick question if someone may know.

I pre-ordered ithika, I live in the US. Has COV sent anyone tracking? Or will he not. Will we just receive package once it gets here?

Thanks
