Screw it hard Dante no problem. Ceramic will be ok.

Keep with pliers the center post and screw hard the ceramic housing
Anyone have trouble with that center nut staying tight? Seems every time I disassemble, its loose. I tighten it pretty darn snug but don't want to break the ceramic. Only.happens when I take it apart though. Has never loosened during use. Not a big deal. Just wondered.

My current project was to get my new Ithaka to give me a great vape. I've tried over a dozen different configs - single coil, dual coil, dual coil subohm (definitely not for me). At 1.3-1.5 ohms, none of these worked well for me.

Last night I tried the single coil, dual-wire method. Two identical wires, 36g Kanthal A-1 and silver NR, wrapped around two 2mm Ekowool strands as a single coil, giving 1.4 ohms. I split the Ekowool and the NR legs to each pass down an individual channel. I also pushed the coil down into the well as far as it would go, to get it as close as possible to the top of the air nozzle.

This is the first setup that has really brought out the potential of the Ithaka for me. My Grant's, which already tasted very good in my Spheroids and Divers, was just something completely different.

Ya I did that. Still when I go to put on a new coil that sucker will be loose. Lol. Has to be when I'm unscrewing from the base that o ring must grab it just enough to loosen it or something. Thought about cutting my own rubber washer to put under that nut but hadn't really been a serious issue thus far.

You might try putting a little Vaseline or silicone grease on the bottom o-ring. I have never had my ceramic loosen since I started doing that.

I am using the new, smaller nut. When I first fill, I close the juice control all the way. I only need to open the juice control about a turn or so when I am part-way through the tank. Zero gurgling or flooding.

I picked up a couple of 30ml bottles of Grant's a couple of weeks ago from a US vendor. Searching ECF should give you the name. I believe all vendors are out of stock right now.

What do you mean "pushed the coil all the way down as far as it would go into the well". Isn't there quite a bit distance between top of ceramic and the top of the smaller nut. I thought the coils are suppose to lay flat on top of ceramic

With your juice control closed, how does your juice feed until you are part-way through the tank.
What am I missing/not understanding?

With the smaller top nut, you can actually flex that coil down a little by pushing it down.
As for juice control, if you have basic feed open at all, many times there is no need to open the mouth piece. Much of his depends on how thick your juice is.

Quick question guys. My new Ithaka I got the mouthpiece is so much harder to unscrew with the cap on, my other one is smooth and easy.. I forget if my first Ithaka was hard to unscrew at first or not. Even after washing the o ring on my first Ithaka it's easy to unscrew. I lube up the new o ring with juice, maybe I'll try Vaseline? Anything else I can do to ease up the mouthpiece? Maybe just over time? Not a big deal really, just curious! Thanks!

Is it hard to unscrew without the o-ring. Meaning no tank installed?

Its not as hard as it is with the cap on, and the cap isn't on too hard either. I think it's the o ring, but I'll lube it up a bit better next time. I didn't normally have to lube up my smoother Ithaka at all, just let the juice do its thing.

Please keep us posted if this continues to give you the satisfaction you desire. Where can I get Grant's?

Just got my Grants today from Cloud 9 from their last stock. I would assume they are out now.
I do know that George and Perseas will be stocking Grants soon. They will most likely release when their break is over.

Great post.
I am currently using the dual highlander method and Bishop does a good video on it.

You couldn't be more correct about the vape experience. Some don't get that the Ithaka is on its own plateau. It is genius on many levels. A peeve of mine is when members compare it to a Kaydiddlyfunforaweek. Most don't even own an Ithaka.
The set ups are many, vape is incredible and it is affordable.

I bought a kayfun the week before I got an ithaka. Kayfun is at home on the counter if that says anything. Lol. It's a fine device but I definitely prefer the ithaka.

A pic would be worth a thousand words.

After everything is in place, I gently pushed down on the coil so it was ever so slightly concave. Perhaps I am being pedantic in even mentioning this, but I have found a millimeter can sometimes mean the difference between "Olympic nectar in vapor form" and "Satan just farted in my mouth". The coil moved about 1mm down into the ceramic, just to reduce the distance from the nut to the coil.
