Is there a site that actually has ready wire in stock or will I need to resort to watching bish's video a few dozen times & build them myself?

I would like to know this as well.

Bruce had ready wires that he recently got from Imeo with the shipment of the latest Telescopic Mouthpieces and SS tanks. Did not take long and all of was gone. Your best bet is to order them from e-smokeguru. As of now they have the 1.2 ohm and the 1.7 ohm in stock. Yes the stuff has to come from Greece, but most of the time I get my stuff pretty quickly. Shipping is about $12.00, so I just make sure I get everything I need and a few extra Ithica O-ring packs... because you never know when you gonna need one of them little buggers.

I am still also going through newbie stages and also feel the ready wires gives us one thing less to deal with till we get our feet a little more wet... moist... :D

Does anyone know if dead soft silver nr wires works with the mini zapper? I got a zapper specifically for my Ithaka and it just won't weld it to my 32 awg kanthal. I just want to make sure and see if its just me that needs more practice or if it just doesn't work with silver wire.
I just tried with my Tsaf some 32 awg kanthal and silver, I was able to zap but might not zap every time and may not be perfect zap... meaning once you start wrapping it may come apart. The Zappers take a little practice and getting used to. Silver seems doable depending on the zapper... there are quite a few different designs of these.

Another member mentioned to me that he was not able to zap kanthal and silver, but he was not sure if it was due to the silver or his zapper. He did not think he had a quality zapper so that is the reason for the uncertainty.

He mentioned that he binds kanthal to the silver with 1mm Sterling Silver Crimp Beads. These are very tiny. I have not had a chance to try... just putting it out there.

oh, installed new nut on one of my Ithakas and no gurgle. I kinda miss the gurgle. It was a good gurgle.

Can you post a picture of the new nut? Also does anyone knows what serial numbers are the revised version? from what # does the Ithaka has the new nut installed?

Hey Pillow, thanks for your reply. Well, I made the coil with the silica and ready wire that came with the Ithaka. Fairly straight forward build. Single coil diagonally placed, basic feeding closed and tightened everything down well. Also tightened the top 2 pieces separately with the top nut screwed on very slowly to not cause pressure on the tank. Now in hindsight, I think a went around the pos and neg posts more than just once. That could be the cause of my leaking through the 510/GG connector. I'm using it without the adjustable airflow or 510 base attached straight on my MKB ts as I've lent my GG ts to a friend. With juice control closed, I took a few drags without firing to prime the wick then opened juice control up just enough to where I could see the wick(maybe ~3mm). Fine for a few minutes. Put the devise down(upright) for 10 mins and come back to have a vape and I have major gurgling. I close juice control and gurgling doesn't improve even after 5 mins of vaping. I unscrew the Ithaka from the MKB and there's a ton of juice on the connector and pooled in the collector. I attempted to blow the juice out if the bottom to clear it out but it just kept coming and didn't clear up indicating there's a constant leak..not just a monetary leak. So i cleaned off all the juice and kept juice control closed for a few days...only to come back, unscrew the Ithaka to check for leaking e liquid and find another pool of juice in the collector tank. Granted this was my first build with it, I'm no novice to rebuildables and the build seems very straight forward and quite simple so I'm not sure what's going on. Then I googled "Ithaka leaking" or "Ithaka gurgling" and was surprised to find that its extremely common and there were tons of threads about it...with many claiming that the new center post would solve the problem.

I have my bottom feed closed and only have to open maybe a mm to wick my 40/60 juice. The smaller center nut did fix my gurgle but that was just the splatter off the coil getting some juice in the longer nut. Maybe you've just opened it too far? I'd close the top feed control and blow from the bottom and out the tip. Then I'd vape with it closed until it starts to hit dry then open ever so slightly until you find the right amount.

That's all I have mine open for 60% vg and it wicks just fine even chain vaping.

Thanks for trying that out for me. Ya I was able to get them to weld but when I'd go to remove the leads they'd just come apart. This happened like 20 times and got so frustrating that I just stopped.

The zapper I got is called the "mini zapper". I purchased it off the ukvapers forum from the maker of it called "StiG". All the buyers seemed quite pleased with their units so I figured I'd give it a shot. It was my first attempt at zapping so it could also be that I need to find that sweet spot in reference to how long u hold diem the charge button for a given wire size. But it would attach them(barely) then just detach with the slightest movement which shows that it there's no way it would hold together wrapping a coil. I ordered some nickel so when that arrived ill give that a shot and let everyone know.

Ill admit, I just gave up and went online and bought some ready wire. Oh ya, for anyone looking for ready wire...SVC has some I stock right now actually($8.99 for 50 vs $15 for only 25 from cov). You're welcome:)

IMG_20130820_233042.jpgleft is old nut - right is new nut.

I think all serial #'s come with the longer nut installed and the additional smaller nut in a little packet, so be careful ;). The smaller nut was introduced since some people were having gurgling since the larger nut has air flow coming to close in contact with coils.

~to gurgle or not to gurgle that is the question~

Thanks Dante. I didn't quote your message just because it would've been one LONG quote including mine. but ill give that a shot next build...if I get the leaking that is. I also vape mostly 40/60 so ill open it less next time as well. Although, when I think about it...I'd semi ckear the flooding/gurgling by blowing through the mouth piece out of the connection with the juice control closed and it would still flood after a few hours of just sitting there(with juice control closed all the way). This is leading me to believe that whatever it is, it's not from the juice control since juice still pooled up with it bring entirely closed.

Hopefully when I receive my ready wire and give it another go the leak will no longer rear its ugly head.

Thanks for the tips.

Cheers

Don't be surprised if they are too short. They are not made for GG. Your welcome I guess?

Just make them yourself. It's not that difficult. Then you can tailor them to your liking. And save money. I'd say on average it takes about 2 or 3 minutes to cut the wire, size it up and wrap them together.

Thx very much for the suggestion.

Last night I ordered about eighty-five thousand feet (give or take) of R & NR (and a bit of variation of both) and I'm gonna be a manual-joining, newbie-coil-building, ohm meter-reading, thread-reading, YT-watching maniac by this weekend. I just hope that bish, imeo, and Scott don't start showing up in my dreams

I might experiment with a DIY zapper using a trickle charger that I run on my motorcycle or a small 6v portable device that I use on my trailer hitch. I don't think I can blow up anything but I'll probably wear my helmet and FIA-rated fire suit. Thoughts about this dumb new-guy idea?

A few of us just did a big group buy on premade coils :D

This is my Ithaka on 3000 premade wires.

Crazy - how much did that cost you, if ya don't mind me asking. What ohm?

I've got a little spot welder and would love to just sit down one day and put together a ton of wires like that.
