New problem now. I get to go through my bucket of orings to solve this that has developed since I enlarged the other.

This is insane and very frustrating.
There is no point to ask the simple elimination question,
as you are "old" GG user, and know your way.

but then how come you have this un stoppable leaking issues??

There are more then few possibilities that come to mind(like maybe over tightening
The Ithaka to the CT when there is longer battery like Pana black cells in battery chamber so CT center post
Can't move and there for the Ithaka center pin is forcing inside)
but you probably cover those by your self.
no fun at all.

I am not using the o ring that came with the Ithaka dam my wife put them some where it must be one from the ufs smaller then the one that came with the ithaka inner diameter, tighten my as much as possible. I use 100 vg so pretty thick juice. Why is it leaking maybe the ceramic is not tight but u tried that for sure i wish i could help.

I had this problem with my Ithaka leaking from the bottom so I started tightening it all the way down and then I back it off 180 to make sure the o ring is sitting properly. I haven't had it leak from the bottom again. I'm definitely not a GG veteran but my job works with o-rings all day and over-tightening WILL make them leak.

Here's a trick you might want to try.
sometimes I had leaks from base to, depending on your wire wrap around center pin and then tightening in its base I found that the wire sometimes would deformed o-ring causing it to leak. I resolve this by using two washers 1-stainless & 1-fiber washer as a insulator this gives the o-ring a flat Surface to support against and prevents it from deforming,
I also found the pin seems to Center itself without having to make adjustments. I've been using this set up now and have never had a leak from base

Can you post another link Md? That one doesn't seem to work.

Wow, As much as you and I have talked about this, I never envisioned such a mess. I applaud your drive. Most would of given up and never looked back to GG. I am ready to start a Yankeebobo Ithaka donation fund to replace your family Ithakas. Should of been done long ago. O-rings? Pff theres more to this than o-rings.
Imeo throw Yankee a bone buddy. He is a good friend and good for GG.

Parts Home Depot under 3 dollars
Hardware section stainless washers are on the wall
Fiber washers are in the gray pullout specialty drawers
They come in designations of a, b, c, e,
Make sure you get the one that says 23 – C
Look at pic I posted above.

mddally, this really looks like a good method! Seems it shortens your post on the Ithaka as well, which puts less pressure on the screw post in the CT. Even with the screw all the way down in the CT, our Ithaka post will push it slightly past the orings about 1-2mm. I think that is putting too much pressure on the ithaka post and might even take a little too much slack off the oring causing it to break the seal. I wish I had xray vision to see what was happening inside.

Ok. We've done quite a bit of measuring and speculating based on findings. What I can tell you that I DON'T like about this whole thing.

The ithaka post is needlessly long. That post should have been shorter and maybe the brass piece longer to help the 510. GG adjusts so why we went longer on ithaka I don't know.

Next. The adjustable in the JGG CT. that screw is all the way down. That is being pushed out by the ithaka post. So the bottom cap spring and battery are pushing back too much. I say this because it doesn't take much to push that brass in the CT out. Now, I also suspect that the 2mm difference in CT height is playing a factor. That 2mm gives less CT height with a longer ithaka pin. And before anyone says "mine's not leaking" yes. I'm speculating for one and also have my own variables playing into this (don't forget I just replaced all orings so of course I can't rule out some ridiculous pressure change). And I'm hinging on an idea. And that's what I'm doing right now. Setting up my idea.

Should it leak? Heck no. But I have no stars aligned right now.

I know I'm missing a few people here and I'm sorry. But a couple jump to mind.

Gtbb - just ordered a kiddie pool from amazon. Thanks for that idea. :)

Idaho - thanks for the comments but I won't want another ithaka. And won't be buying more than a couple of anything.

MD - I may just give this a try.

Oh. And yes. When they first arrived we vaped well. It's like something "broke in" the wrong way.

Jo Post! Thank you times 1k for the gifts! D says I can post a wub but, I fear Yankee knows how to find me now :)

Mddally,
+1 for the idea. This is nice to see, someone caring.

On another note, why should anyone pay, even a small amount to modify an Ithaka? I don't spend this kind of money to fix issues? We pay for them to operate as designed or we move on.
The unfortunate issue is that Yankeestud can't even sell these unless fixed because he has a conscious.
Parts?

Hey Chris! You and D are MORE than welcome Sir! I hope you guys are enjoying!!

as for parts? WE actually bought more parts last week from COV to test and see if we change a couple of the parts (bases and top bodies) maybe that would fix things...so when they come in, we shall test those too...Meanwhile the testing continues and the frustration that Yankee has endured is now onto a migraine...He is seriously ready to give up on them...I know he won't but he is at the end of his rope.
