This may be the silica if your are using silica and not the pre made!
They don't taste to me.
But With some silica I did get this taste in the past, while other vendors silica did not
Carry this taste.
I don't no why it is so.
Just give it few dry burns make it glow before vaping, and with juice
Few shots before vaping,it should disappear.
Or alternatively boil the wick your using.

Also I have been using ribbon on duals since I got the wire and have not seen any reason to change. Love the ribbon with Ecowool wick in x-pattern.

yes! ribbon is great in dual coil x setup! it really changes the way the ithaka vapes. such a small thing makes such a big difference.

i agree as well on the wire possibly being the culprit. i didn't burn the coil till it glowed on the first setup AND it was a new batch of silica. ( i have gotten lazy with my weekly rebuild regiment , i do 6-7 all in one shot, i started to blow off the burn and adjust part of my regiment, this time the shortcut backfired on me:) ) either way the problem is solved.

thanks for the help from all!

i use 18350's exclusively in all of my mods. i recently bought a couple of 18490's to do some testing. they seem to make the device hit harder.
Is this my imagination?
or is there some reason the bigger battery battery would make this happen?

they are all IMR AW 3.7v regardless of size

If you're vaping sub-ohm they don't all have the same discharge current. You should opt for 18650 they'll last longer at a higher voltage, way more pleasant experience.

I would recommend the Orbtronics or the Panasonic (which is the one it's based on). They're a thread about them in the GG forum if you look around.

18350's have a 6 AMP discharge and are not recommended for sub ohm's.

I can't work 18350 even for my 1.5 ohms,
For my long easy draws, they just don't hold there
freshness long enough for my liking, and I find that I start to draw harder
To soon.
And I tried so many times,it's just not working for my vape/draw style.
I guess it's different for each,as I see some do work with them,
I wish I could.
Maybe with VIR this will be possible for me,until then 18650 hi amp all the way,
This keep the fresh kick for long hours.

Hey guys,

Sorry to change gears but I'm having a common issue and was looking for help. My clear window is leaking ... again. It's my second window and it's very frustrating. It's not a juice issue; the window threads are too thin and crack away from the thicker plastic center. I've heard Imeo mention he's making a new one but I can't find it anywhere. Ideally I'd grab a steel one but they're never available. I've also seen some third-party ones that are made for clones, but I'm not sure if they'll be compatible. Any help at all is much appreciated ... desperate for a solution that works!

The new Ithaka Clear Windows are available at >e-smokeguru<. Imeo said that Ithaka Steel Windows will be available soon. I suggest either watching the the e-smokeguru announcement thread and put your email >here< to be notified when they are in stock at e-smokeguru.
