The points you made legion are exactly the reasons that I wouldn't buy the Ithaka without the 510 base. And I, like you, voted for the GG style mouthpiece because it is my favorite but i also purchased a drip tip style mouthpiece for one of those you never know days.
I was just trying to see it from another's perspective...but in the end when you're talking about a $180 atty, what's a few extra dollars.

When they arrive, one will sit on my new nickel TS that I was so fortunate to aquire from our good friend CaptSteve, and the two others will sit on my 4 in 1 caps most likely in stealth configurations. An Ody medium mode on my fourth TS with collector tank and I am done with 18xxx mods and attys. I'm over the collector mentality for my habit (well kind of lol). I would still like Ithaka type attys for my TBs and haven't given up on a proper mod for Penelope (or Penelope II with Ithaka like features )

Never said do away with the 510 collector tank, I said for us ggts only users that only mount gg attys on ggts'es my ody doesn't get mounted in anything else so having that extra 510 as a paperweight doesn't seem viable to me. The collector tank is an expensive piece, 100 bucks while tubes and all that are lower prices, so taking off the 510 collector tank would result in a cheaper price, ggts ody base is 12 bucks while 510 ody base is more, just saying it would be nice for ggts owners who don't plan on using ithaka on anything else but ggts with collector tank to have that option. My 510 ody base is rolling around somewhere. I never thought it was true and even argued with me krinkle a looooong time ago about the subject until I tried ggts native connectivity on ody.
I'm not saying for you to do it imeo, it would just be a nice option, cater to you ggts first, then everything else just like Ufs.

I did read and understood. I think it should be complete. Imagine some day Imeo creates something else. And for those of us that don't have more than one GG mod we now have to search for 510, go through insane prices, begging in want ads. At that point, they will come to GG threads and be passed because Imeo won't make them again. This one is complete.
If Imeo WERE to change to a la cart option, I want a few GG MPs dropped and replaced with all drip tip MP. All this changing around in the last 12 hours cost a lot of extra money. But, if I were a betting man, in a year those that were MEH oh the 510 piece will have enjoyed its conveniences.
Now. I'm sure that some will get cross threaded or parts go missing. One could always sell the piece and recover a few bucks.
This is my two cents. And I'm ONLY stating my point of view.

not true urq. Ithaka has many more options than Ody and its underpricerd already. If someone else was making Ithaka he would prise it at least at 180 euros. Just compare Ithaka to other mods and you will see that I am right

i say against my interest (who would not want a gift?) but there is no doubt that the technical concept and aesthetics, functionality, quality of materials and workmanship of ithaka is offered at a price that's more than fair and honest.
in more if we take into account the willingness to dialogue and care imeo giving in all aspects of the creative and production process, i dont think there are possibilities of economic evaluation of the piece, at least not with the standard typical of modern productions.
comparison with other mod european or american, that least give us some assurance on the materials used, are not however comparable being this objects are very predictable and lacking of the creative spark inherent in every golden greek piece.

Possibly a dumb question, but having pre-ordered and not noticed the alternate mouthpiece (and now, of course, wanting one), what do you suppose are the odds of those becoming available again soon(ish)?

i think yankee had a great response to this. i dont think anyone was saying that you suggested that the part not be made. the option of not having the whole unit complete with all of the options was the question.

example , the oddy came out as (if the sequencing is wrong i apologize) v1 then drip mode then expansion kits were made available then v2 short ...this is where i came in.

i got a v2short for 120. then realized i would like the native base i had to wait a few months, then i realized i wanted the drip mode, waited a few more months got it on the classifieds, then i realized i wanted the expansion kit, i still havent been able to get that and i wont pay 200 on the classifieds for it.

a lot of waiting, a lot of time hunting parts down.

when i bought the oddy 2 short i had no idea what the hell i was buying
if it would have been sold as a full kit ( v2+expansion kit with drip option + ggts base) i would have bought it even if it was 200.00 bucks or more. i still would have not had a clue what i was buying at the time but today i would be super happy because i would own all of the options and not have to hunt parts and pieces down.

i dont think anyone is here to save a few bucks if that was the case we would be vaping vivi nova tanks wich are not bad for 20 bucks!

in my opinion gg is all about product flexibility through superior design options. without the option part of the equation i thinks it leaves something missing.

this is not ment to be combative in any way i realize that you are a VERRRRY advanced gg user and know exactly what you want and how you want it, full props and no disrespect intended.

i think the complete option/version looks out for the new members of the gg family that are arriving on a daily basis.

No offense taken, me personally I just won't ever need that addon. I have specific mods for certain duties. Ggts, ody obviously lol. Caravela will do genis and custom stuff I make. Precise pulse will do a combo of drippers ir genis, whichever. But ggts get ody only, and if I do put something else on ggts it has a stealth cap for that.
Check this out, I got ody last year in feb from my buddy for 350 bucks. Everything included, ggts base, expansion all that. Never used the expansion, used the 510 cuz u didn't have the ggts yet, then got ggts and all that changed, so how ody was released plus a ggts base is how I use it, helll I haven't even upgraded the thing lol still rocking v1 ceramics.
Minimalist right here, even though gg owner and minimalist doesn't go in the same sentence

I think you have a point here urq ... I also have the hole top part " you all know the components" there cabinet not getting used ...and it's not cheap either ... So IF there would be an option to get a ggts without the top cap and get it like I love to call it " a silica hybrid" is not a bad idea either ... So I can say 100% with urq on this .... Cos I use the ggts with GG attys or ufs and I have an iatty and if I really like it I will get a ggts base for it aswel.
And probably an other GG ... Imeooooooo you gonna get me KILLED SOOOON.

Well on the last preorder I bought one whole ggts and other parts to make partial ggts's to be used with ufs or stealth cap. So you can always do that and if you have ufs the parts to make a ggts would be for less than 100 euros.
