His facebook page says that they are stuck in customs.

Nobody is talking bad about Imeo. Imeo would never treat his people like this. This is a greedy businessman who did this.
I have spoke on the phone with a friend at VB. There is no "maybe" here. We have 3 or 4 diff sources confirming this.

I understand no one is blaming Imeo. And I don't know if Bruce lied or not (specifically what day did he say they were in customs?)

I do think Bruce messed this one up, and it doesn't look good. I just think people are probably blowing this out of proportion. I just have a bad feeling when I see people turn things into a witch hunt instantaneously, and I think we should all calm down just a bit. Just a little, that's all.

OK, not so much a devils advocate here, but do we really need to flip out over every little thing. I mean, I don't think Bruce could have planned the timing of this one. He got the Ithakas right before a major event and obviously would love to represent COV and GG there. I understand it kind of sucks for us who paid in advance (and I am one of those waiting myself) but I just don't think this is all that major of an insult. I mean look everyone immediately starts screaming that he's selling them for less, when that looks to be untrue after all.

I do think he at the least owes us having people preparing and shipping to us right now, but again there is thousands of us so it will take a minute. Also think about that many show goers probably spent a lot of money just to get to vape Bash.

If he really did lie to us that would be inexcusable, but again see the over exaggerated impulse response to pricing. That makes me wonder if he really lied.

Again, I do think this somewhat sucks for us, and this was certainly not a good idea for Bruce in regards to PR, but do we really need to get the torches every single time things don't go exactly the way we want them to?

You got a point there, but its pretty lame to not at least post your plans ahead of time.
People who make these mistakes and do not see this trouble coming ahead of time, are not competent enough to run a business.
Many businesses went under by similar mistakes in the past.
To be honest with you, this mistake will ruin him. No matter how great of a guy he might be.

Okay, so are we positive that Ithakas have physically been sold? I just wonder if Bruce is selling them to people but not actually getting them till he ships them with other orders. LOL, if someone can take their phone and actually film an actual sighting.

this situation makes me think of this scene from Frankenstein

I spoke to a long time vaper who talked to Bruce and Bruce told him he could pick up his pre-order id he had his ID on him. There were at least 15 to 20 Ithakas on the table. Bishopheals bought one or 2. Pbusardo bought 1 live on the radio. Its well documented. There is no "if"

The audio Kwalka posted has someone saying "I did pick up the Ithaka. I have an Ithaka." There are also plenty of people saying Bruce has stock on hand that he's selling.

Here is the chat with my friend before we spoke on the phone. When I read this I asked him to cal me and thats when I got the rest of the info:

Spoke to Bruce. People with pre-orders can pick them up from here. Although, when I started asking questions they acted like they knew of the situation.

As I see it 3000 people including myself invested in Ithaka by prepaying retail price for it in good faith. Bruce did not honor our good faith by taking time to take care of us, the investers who supported and financed the Ithaka. With out us, the Investers, the Ithaka would not have been produced in such a large quantity, and we in turn are being made fools of by one mans decision.
I do not believe that Imeo is at fault in any way for this disrespect, but I anxiously wait for his position in this matter. I have been a long time COV customer and am disappointed in this news.

Look Guys... Im only going to say this once, and hopefully this will clear things up.

First, Ithakas were delayed in customs, that was 100% true.

Second, I had Bruce delay our flight to a later one on Thursday (yesterday) in order to be able to get the Ithakas into us and get work done and not have ANYTHING processed, bagged, sorted, etc... cause otherwise Everyone would have to wait for Bruce and I to return from Chi and then first get started.

So.... We busted our butts to get ahead for everyone even though it made us late in flying into Chi... (not to mention we had a 5 hour delay on top of the flight so we did not arrive in until 3:30 am)

Third, We brought enough Ithakas to fill as many pre-orders and advanced orders for them as we possibly could, for anyone that will be at the meet that has an order placed with us.

Fourth, the price is the price, we expect people to use the discount on our website, we advertise it.... also you have to pay for shipping cost too.... the 20 yeah.... 20 Ithaka we did have to sell at the meet were at the price Imeo specified.

I am sorry that a few of you are unhappy, it is hard to please everyone. We try our hardest, but with the CoV team gone (at the meet), not shipping right now, nothing would be done until we got back. We will work diligently to get all orders out but we thought it best to start getting these orders out AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, even if that meant bringing a TON of Ithakas with us to fill these orders.

Please see it from our way. We know how badly everyone wants their new GG items, we realized that a few people would be upset about this, but let em ask you this guys.... how is it right to turn people away refusing them their ordered items, when techincally we had the mods in our posession?

Everyone of you that feels wronged by this I'm sorry, truly, but the fact is.... No orders would have shipped out until Monday anyway when we would have returned and bagged, sorted, and counted all the items in order JUST to get them ready to ship.. it would have taken a lot of time. Instead we are in a better position to ship orders out more efficiently once we return. Isnt that better? Guys we try and do right by everyone, but when everyone is.... well everyone and that means a lot of people, and everyone feels differently.

Guys we always try and do right by ya'll. We really put ourselves out there in order to do this, changing flights, extra overweight bags to fly with, I feel that we try and go above and beyond for every one of our customers, because that is what they deserve from us at CoV.

So cool ya jets guys, any order thats needs shipping would have had to wait to the weekend was over anyways... so calm down.

If you are in Chi for the meet then stop by and pick up your mod... we brought a limited amount in order to fill these orders and we will fill the orders we can for as long as we can...

Thanks guys...

I understand folks being upset but I prefer to looking forward to a shipping confirmation Monday or Tuesday. IMHO, I simply don't want to be mad. I signed up for a pre-order within the first few minutes sales started (months ago) with the understanding that it would get here when it gets here. I was ticked off earlier in the week when folks were getting them (guess it was vaping evny...) but have realized I didn't order early for anyone else but me and as easy as it it is to sucked into the "mob" I'm still just really excited to get my snazzy new Ithaka and play...

Well, there you have it. Apparently CoV thought it was just fine to sell Ithakas without taking a second to update people who had pre-ordered before they started doing it. Leaving us in the dark while selling off the spares apparently seemed like a good idea.

If there were only 20, why even sell them? Nobody would be angry if they just showed them off, or even let people pre-buy them, for shipping when ours went out. Choosing to sell them while leaving paid customers hanging was a boneheaded move at best.

The response would make sense, if they brought some to give to any potential pre-order folks attending VB. Once they got back they could start the tedious process of packing and shipping out the rest. It's that they sold them to people with no pre-order that bothers me a bit. Maybe have 1 or 2 that people could look at, but not FS unless you were on the list.

Justins response made me sick to my stomach. Im actually insulted by it. Now I know Im done with COV. That was the most condescending response I could have imagined. Instead of telling me to cool my jets he could have just said it was an error in judgement. I almost read that to say nobody got one that didnt preorder. If this is true then fine but I think its just another lie.

That said Im not gonna sit here and be upset about it anymore. Its over. Ill get it when I get it and thats all. Im done with COV from here and thats good enough for me.

Agreed. If they'd said "Hey, we have Ithakas for people who pre-ordered," I don't think anyone would be complaining. It's the 20 people who they bumped to the front of the line, in front of those of us who've been waiting months, that sort of piss me off.

And where's the explanation for why we weren't told anything? They obviously knew this would piss people off -- did they think if they just ignored their customers long enough that it'd die down before they got home?

My problem is that note Justin wrote. Acting like a martyr. The poor guys had to delay a flight so they could sell the Ithakas we paid for. Then telling me how I need to feel about it as a customer. Its a pretty childish letter. So before I start to sound childish (I might have already lol) Im gonna get off of here and just wait until next Thursday or Friday when I get it.

Just a bad business decision any way you spin it. We don't have the time to send the per-orders because we are going to Chicago. And they even delayed their flight in order to get the Ithakas to Chicago with them. If you happen to be at Vape Bash & you happen to be able to prove your preorder here you go. What about those that are not at Vape Bash? What if you do not have your order #?

Are you telling me every single employee of COV in Chicago? Not one could be working on those pre-order shipments right now? So if there wasn't a Vape Bash this weekend you would let the Ithakas sit in their boxes until Monday morning?

Sounds to me like a perfect storm of circumstances occurred to blow away everything & expose the reality that COV cares more about everything except the people that footed the bill for all of this in the first place. Not one Ithaka should have been in anyone's hands until the pre-orders were shipped. PERIOD!

No BS. No spin. No denials. No excuses. No minimizing the 'few' that 'might' be upset.
