I screw very hard the center pin twitt. I dont think that ceramic can brake that easy:)
Imeo, sorry , maybe I wasn't clear. I do not mean to leave the center post loose. I mean tight, but not extremely over-tighten it. I always had a tendency over tighten, and snapping things off. I probably could crack the ceramic if I tried. Classic, just like the saying, "Not knowing your own strength". Lol

To all a great day.

Imeo,

I just unscrewed further more the adjustable brass center pin as you mentioned that "liquid" would be there trapped and it seems that the gargling is almost gone! at least to a level I can deal with it without getting mad!! similar to what I experienced till now with my Ody!
After 10 minutes vaping no gargling!!! Uha! now I can enjoy!
At least I hope I found out the fix!!

it could be that the place where the liquid is trapped is bigger and accpts more liquid without gargling or now it can runs down...

Thats great xav:)

Hi everyone, total newbie here
first let me say that I feel terribly guilty for knowing nothing about Ithaka 'till friday and, as soon as a friend told me, being lucky enough to pick one from eSmokeGuru (btw: Vassilis is... just a wonderful person :)

must also confess I'm not at all familiar with this kind of atomizers (I'm using a Cobra genesis style) and I'm a little worried about building a coil at least 1.5 ohm (1.8 would be better) so to avoid issues (read "errors") on my Provari (I'll get a Stealth as soon as they're available again ;-)

my question: resistance is determined by the R part length or by number of turns? (on my Cobra genesis I know four "turns" will give me around 1.8 ohms, but I'm using R wire only)

thanks

Length and turns are one in the same. Add a turn, it adds length, also adding resistance. Yes, resistance is determined by the length of R wire.

ok, thanks, but... I'm still confused by these NR-R-NR wires: in genesis style atties you use R wire only for the whole lenght

I guess once I'll have Ithaka in my hands I'll (probably :p ) understand

I started vaping in September of 2012 using Volts. By October, I was on Ego's and Vivi's. In November, I ordered a Caravela and purchased a Provari to hold me over while I waited for the Caravela. I had the Caravela's by January. I have used nothing but Caravela's with HH357's since, until I received a Vela Latina beta tank from Pedro. A most amazing man.

Friday, I purchased my first GG product. An Ithaka. I'm an engineer, so pretty much figured out how to set it up myself, although I did peer over Bishopheals shoulder at VapeBash for a few minutes while he built a dual coil for someone. I tried dual coils (two 3ohms for a total res of 1.5) and ended up tearing that apart as I built my own wires and the twists of NR/Res kept pushing their way into the ring and was acting flaky. When it worked well, I didn't see an advantage to two coils. So I then used a single 1.7 ohm coil around dual wicks. WOW!!! VERY nice flavor and vapor! Hats off to you, Imeo! Very high quality and I love all the adjustment possibilities!

I have but one question. The ground wire was easy to figure out, and the top plastic nut that pinches it against the metal body. But for the positive lead, I can only figure pinching it against the lowest knurled disk, then wrapping it against the center post under that and pushing the rubber grommet up against it to keep it there. Is that correct? There is no locking mechanism for the positive post lead? It's working fine, but perhaps I am missing something? I tried to watch the video, but it is very long and the connection to the center post I could not find in the video. The rest of the adjustments I understand, and I just want to make sure I have that one connection correct.

your X coils touched each other but not in the middle but on its edges. Maybe the one of your coils was offset to the right corner and the other coil was offset to the left corner.
Imeo, when I tried dual coil on Ithaka X style, I didn't get good results. The resistance was changing and then one of the coils broke. I was using 2 1.5 ohms premade wires each one on doubled 2.5 wicks. Same settings but parallel coils were running fine. Any idea on what happened there?

While you screw the rebuildable part in place and you finally tight it, the o-ring pushes so hard the positive wire against knurled piece that even a metal nut screwed by hand cant do it Moueix:)

Thank you Imeo! It is a beautiful and extremely well built mod. I kinda figured that the pressure against the O-ring was sufficient, but I wanted to be sure I had it completely correct. She's a wee bit heavy, but it's a LOT of very high quality steel parts. The flavor is amazing, and with dual wicks, NO chance of dry hits. I am very impressed. Thank you for the very quick response.

You make me very happy by liking Ithaka Moueix. And while I thought that Ithaka cant be improved further, I had a nice thought about her while people were asking me about long mode of her. I am thinking of making a telescopic mouthpiece. That way, we will have only one mouthpiece in our hands and we will be able to adjust the length of it to fit the longer mode of Ithaka. As for the length of Ithaka, we will just add upper bodies on her, making her as long as we like.
Nice and simple solutions that make Ithaka even better.
I really think that Ithaka will take a unique place on e-cig world and the rest of constructions will always come after her.

Also with this telescopic mouthpiece we will be able to adjust the stopper and put it where we like and also to adjust the length of the mouthpiece. The telescopic mouthpiece will be turned very easy (it will not depend on an o-ring's pressure to be turned), like the regular mouthpiece of Ithaka

Thank you root my friend:)
I will not do preorders for GGTS and Stealth just to see if people that dont like preorders system will be happier with it. Maybe we can keep preorders for all new GG stuff and no preorders for GG stuff that already exists.

I, for one, prefer the preorder to the previous "mad dash" system.

Playing devil's advocate, though, it's worth noting that there is a 60-day time limit on credit card disputes. This leaves zero recourse avenues for the buyer. Not saying that we've ever had a scenario requiring it, but worth noting. Worst-case-scenario, you have them all built and all the preorder money disappears. Obviously, you can't still fulfill the orders, and the whole brand is left in a pretty precarious situation. Food for thought...
