Ok, I have a stupid question, and I'm half asleep, but for some reason I just thought "whoa.. wait a minute..."
When using dual coils.. is the FINAL ohm rating half of the TOTAL of both coils?

I've been making 2x 2ohm coils expecting 1ohm.. but am I really getting 2ohm because the final total is 4ohm?

If you are getting 2 ohms then the one of your wires doesnt work sub

I'm having some issues with my multimeter so I don't really know what my coil is exactly.. but it seemed to be working properly.. I just wasn't sure.. was my first dual coil so I don't have much experience with how different ohms will feel with vapor.

Luckily my Nickel wire is coming a day early so I will get it tonight! I'm going to try and go lower ohms tonight, too. I think I will try maybe 2x 1.5ohm coils for .75ohm - but all I have are AW IMR batteries so I'm not sure if I should get better batteries for sub-ohm coils (I will have to read through that battery thread)

You could go so far as making this 4 wicks using an (X + =) 36 awg R wire at 4 ohms x 4 wicks should give you 1 ohm, if you can manage all those NR wires. Getting that much wick in the channels might be easier with some modded ceramics, or just clipping off at the top of the ceramic. With that many wires in the channel some wick is a good idea for insulation on the + side at least.

Agree on that

This is the formula my friend FormulaResistorParallel01.gif

It applies if u have 3 coils as well. Making half of 1 coil is a special case where the 2 coils are same resistance. If you choose different resistances like i do sometimes you have to use the formula.

we can do that gius. I will make preorders for that part too, together with steel windows and everything else we need. We can discuss this together:)

Great news. I think we can place our UFS in the drawer. Do you just know when we can preorder 510 atty adapter for Ithaka?
;)

Hey guys,
Take a look at this: first, we make an X coil and then we put two parallel coils on top of the X coil:

Alireza I just tried this. 3 x 2.4 ohms for 0.8 ohms. Amazing!!!! No dry hits since 2.4 is high enough not to dry up quickly. Its like the perfect fit between dual and quads. The metal becomes too hot but it is worth it.

EDIT: by the way when I thought of this before attempting it, it was a perfect solution for not bringing the 2 upper coils close to the center. No need to do it because the x in the middle splits the air towards the 2 others.
