For weeks I keep reading about all the leaking and gurgling. So I want to share that I have built Ithaka at least 10 - 15 times, using different setups and never had any leaking at all. I always keep BF open, I always close the MP before filling or re-filling. Once out of every 10 refills I get a small amount of gurgling and I simply tip it upside down for 2 seconds and the extra juice gets absorbed in the wicks and its gone. I leave the juice control open about 4 mm all the time. I never close it. Even over night.
I dont do anything different than I've been doing with Ody for a year. I just fill to the top then put the large cap and the small.
I have been in the habit of cutting my wicks off at the bottom o ring, and I have lined up the holes in the bottom of the ceramic with the slots in the nut.
I am posting this so all the new Ithaka owners that are new to this style atty understand that this is a perfect design that works perfectly. For each one of these folks struggling with issues there are 20 of us that you never hear from because everything is working great.
I just ordered a boat load of spare parts from Vassilis. He has gone above and beyond to help me work out the logistics of global shipping. Excellent customer service!

I've got a second one on pre-order and have actually given some thought to selling my Ody since it hasn't seen any action since Ithaka arrived
if you can shorten it then just do it ali. I am sure now that this is the issue. Its the second day test with a shorter nut and all goes smooth. Maybe I have to make shorter nuts to send them to my customers for free or for 0,5 euros just to save a little money of my big cost

Hey Ali, did you just use a grinder? I get the gurgling if my Ithaka sits for a while but never any leaking.
yes, I had the gurgling problem and no leacking problems. I used a grinder to shorten the center post top nut to a length of 3-4 milimeters and the gurgling is gone for good...

For sure I would have ordered one for experimentation, but native center post nut works perfectly and provides superior taste, imo...

But some people dont like this small gurgling that occurs from time to time. It doesnt affect the vape, its only a sensation. So I tried to see what was happening and it was the long center post. Ody doesnt have it and it doesnt gurgle.
I will try to put upside down the center pin. Maybe this will eliminate this small gurgling.

nothing changed. Ithaka vapes as usual. The small gurgling that some people have is the same. Nothing special of course, it never annoyed me, thats why I let it as it was.

Does this take care of the leaking- weeping some of us are experiencing or am I still doing something wrong? It's not huge since I started twisting upper cap upside down but still have some leakage into TS collection tank when I refill.

I dunno what people are talking about when they say Ithaca gurgles. It is my experience that this only happens with user error.I have two Ithacas and have used them since they first shipped out. Never once a gurgle! I even fill all the way to the top of the smaller cap and still no gurgle. Imeo it is my opinion that there is no need to make smaller center post nuts, the ones you designed work flawlessly. It wouldnt be fair to you to take on the cost when there is no problem to begin with.
I feel like if there was a problem everyone would have it, considering only a few do I think you can chalk it up to user error in there cases.

Today my Ithaka was leaking like crazy exactly through the center post, mouthpiece was closed, BF opened and center post top nut in open position. I emptied the tank and take out the mouthpiece, left the tank only with the engraved ring, then started filling it until liquid was just slightly below the ceramic cup to channels to see what was causing the leaking.
The liquid was flooding the ceramic cup through the center post top nut, since it was in open position.
Solution: just configured the center post top nut in closed position.
I think that kind of flooding happens when using thin juices, my mix was 70%PG 30%VG, so liquid was flowing easily, filling the small chamber and then coming up through the center post top nut slots.
