Oh ya, show off your wood work, next you’ll be competing with the Polish woodworm.
So nice and as much as I love all the new stuff still go back to the bottom coil Phoenix, and Fusions on the VMAX.
Done any SS Mesh yet Zipper? Looking for you to lead the way big man

Gosh my friend...I gave up on the whole rebuilding thing. As a matter of fact, its all for sale in the classy's right now.
I tried, I did, but I came to the conclusion, its just way to much hassle than its worth.

I have so much success with the Phoenix's, and the Nova V2.5, I can't see myself vaping anything but.

I went and bought some test tubes with rubber stoppers, and filled them with a little bit of Everclear..not to much, maybe an inch or so...When a Phoenix or Vivi head starts to have a hard draw, or flavor drops off, I just take the head and give them a soak for a day. A quick dry burn, then air dry another day...good as new.

Do I need 40+ ?, why no of course...I have this wierd paranoia, that maybe one day, I wont be able to get them anymore, so I'm sorta stock piling...I'm kinda like the dooms day prepper of Vaping. I'm starting to stock pile Vivi's and coil heads next..

God forbid, our wonderful  "government" tries to put an end to our passion, I'll be able to keep on putting out plumes for years...

Long Live Vapors, this forum, its members, and GV !!!!

Yes, I've definitely saved money getting off analogs but now I just have more $$$ to spend on girlie stuff. Everyone has their vice :)
I know I'll never mod...KISS is my motto on vaping but it would be fun to see what the fuss is all about with those cool things everyone shows on here

OK...Your hooked, now its time to reel ya in !!!!

zippersnapper. Does the everclear work that good? I have tried vodka but it really does nothing. Except to my head when I drink it.

"Lol"

Yes, 190 Everclear works great..
Some of the more thicker and darker juices may take a few days, but you can actually see the Liquir turn darker as it dissolves the juice from the wicks, and carbon build up on the coils.

I also take a dental pic, and gently scrape the coils, then put it back in the tube and give it a few shakes. I can see small particles of charred gunk in the bottom of the test tube when I'm done.

I used to dry burn them, then immediately prime with juice, assemble, and fill. However, the first few hits were of Everclear still, so I started to simply let them air dry for another day.

Thats another reason why I have so many Phoenix's, I keep them rotating between soaking, and vaping...

The reason for the test tubes was to simply not waste as much Everclear. A half pint here in TX is a little over $7, and I can make it last a few months.....

Rubbing alcohol, is out of the question.....

Ohh, by the way...I'll be flying into Chicago on the 27th, for some Deep Dish & Dogs....VAPE ON !!!

That's what I use, too - must be a Texas thing. I don't know whether the gunk dissolves or just gets drunk and falls off, but either way, it gets the job done. Hard to believe that there was a time in my life when I would actually drink that stuff :) Never would have thought of the test-tubes, but it's a great idea. Where do you get them?

Humm..I have been using vodka and having trouble with flavor falling off on my vivi heads, so the everclear would work better? I vape 100% vg and figure I am not getting them clean enough. Started using my Phoenix for some flavor but have not had to clean them yet. Really enjoying some watermelon in one right now.

Any tips on my vivi heads?

OK, so be really, really careful when dry burning after a cleaning (Phoenix XL 1.5 BC). Chris says this on the video, and I thought I was being careful, short bursts only, but I still popped the coil. Sucks cause it wasn't really dirty anyway, I just wanted to try cleaning one.

I now have a "Phoenix spare parts" box started at least. ;)

I am so bummed right now. A few weeks ago I signed up for a back in stock notify on them but heard nothing. I sent gotvapes an email earlier in the week asking when the 3ml sleeved replacements were going to be in. Just got a reply from Daniel saying that they don't think they are getting them back in stock.

I replied asking if they were going to get a new version or if they are coming out with a new product like the Phoenix or perhaps they are only going with the sleeveless version. What the heck???

he he he, I'll even get a down to earth OK girl to the dark side of vaping, about the girlie stuff, I'll have her punching fusions and trimming wicks yet
Actually I'm a transplant okie who's originally from Chicago! Can't pull one over on me so fast  but punching fusions and trimming wicks sounds like another language to me haha...what is that anyway?

The Test tubes I picked up at Hobby Lobby...2 for $1.99. Be careful with them however, I have broken the bottom out of them because I shook them a little to aggressive. If you have a medical supply place close, or know anybody that works in the medical lab field, doctors office, hospital, etc, would be best. A Medical Grade or Science lab grade test tube would be ideal.

Whats so sweet about the Vivi heads, and all "tanks" that utilize the same design scew on head, can be taken apart and soaked just like the Phoenix's coil head.

Dry burning is a very delicate process indeed. I only reccomend using a lower volt Batt, like the Ego. If you only have a Pro V or A Buzz, and the like..be sure to crank them down. Very short burst, until you gradually see the coil start to glow ORANGE...As they have been soaking in Everclear, they will take a few seconds to reach this color.

At the moment all the windings in the coils turn ORANGE...back off the trigger ! I reapeat this, usually twice...

Prime the coil head with a few drops of your next anticipated flavor and "Viola" you got yourself practically new Clearo/Tank !

The test tubes are a great idea. I'm going to pick a few up today. I've been soaking Fluxo and Phoenix parts in Everclear in a stainless steel bowl. It wastes a lot of Everclear. We can't get 190 proof in my state. I use 151 proof.
As for dry burning, I do it on a ProVari, at 3.3 or 3.4 volts. No more than 5 second bursts. Once the crud on the coil turns into a whiteish ash, it can be gently picked off with a pin. With Fluxos, I've also removed the ash with a Dentek brush. The Fluxo wicks and coils will take a little more aggressive cleaning than the Phoenix BCs. You have to be gentler with the Phoenix.
