It's interesting that some people honestly think "high end" mod prices are justifiable.

Not necessarily a engine is a mechanical device that converts force into motion. So a battering ram is a form of engine, but the people using it might be described as a pump kinda sorta.

I see your point but every post has to be argued in this thread so Im just sticking with the spirit of things.

No thats not your point give me a minute and Ill tell you what your point is;-)

On a side note.... I think I went on a rant earlier about friends who would pay 100 bucks for something but wouldn't hesitate to pay 25 bucks for something similar enough.

A local vape shop ordered some K100's from fasttech. I saw them one day, but never saw the price. Next week one of those same friends is vaping on a K100, and I asked him is he got it from that shop. Sure enough he did. I asked what they charged..... 65 bucks!!!!!!! I felt really bad for him, but he is kinda the notorious impulse buyer anyway. I on the other hand will waste 3 hours researching the best 25 dollar "who gives a crap" item.... To each his own :p

The good news for everyone in this god forsaken thread is that the BF4 beta starts tomorrow, and I will crawl into my little hole and not see daylight or this thread until after new years....

Granted, I will be knocking down skyscrapers while I vape my limited edition, specially engraved, gold plated Ithaka sitting on top of my diamond encrusted Caravela. You guys can scoff all you want, but I'm telling you, e-juice just comes alive vaporizing inside solid gold.....

Here's my 2 cents,

Some people want one of everything and don't necessarily care about quality. I know people with houses full of junk that is both valueless and meaningless. I don't have many things, but all of the things I own are quality and I wouldn't trade them for quantity. I agree some of the tube mod prices are a little high but that depends on the mod. If a clone is an exact replica then it would be sensible to purchase the clone, however not all are.

I'm intending to purchase a precise 14500 when I have $100 to spare. I think $100 is a fair price the precise. Until then I bought a $20 bagua clone to see if I like the performance(which I presume will be similar) and the size of the 14500 tube mods. I think this is the perfect relationship between clones and originals. I wouldn't pay Carvela prices though I can fully understand why someone would, they are more than just machined parts.

I am curious, if op has access to a cnc machine and the experience to produce quality tube mods, why doesn't he? The overhead on mech mods has got to be high and would be a good way to expand the business. I think the reason he doesn't is there has to be a lot of baggage and expectations when you charge the prices some are for mech. mods and it's easier to crank out ar15 parts that don't have to be pretty, they just have to work.

Im waiting for a solid Rodium mod Im thinking it will only be in the 100,000 dollar range. But it will have .000000001 voltage drop and will never tarnish. Its just hard to decide if I want the brushed or polished version.

Unless you're a gangster, go with the brushed. Finger prints are a pain in the a--. I'm just waiting for someone to melt down the sword of gryffindor so we have something that "shuns all impurity" aka those nasty fingerprints. Would also work really well for when my 3 dollar clone breaks and pours juice all over it!

You know, I love a debate. It doesn't have to be a good one! I think we've all exhausted any semblance of any points we were making 10 pages ago, so let's just discuss things that these boutique modders should make us....

In keeping with the theme of the original post, I'd like a mech than holds a single bullet for emergencies. It could fire like those "bike tube guns" from the movie Munich! Last time some d-bag asks me if I brought my ed hardy in with my adult toy shaped e-cig....

Actually, as I've seen it used most, the "generally accepted meaning" of the term mod has evolved to mean ANY PV WITH REMOVABLE BATTERIES (thereby NOT including Ego batteries). The origin of the term being people creating PV's from, well, modifying the original use of a battery tube (flashlight), to build a PV.

Not everyone is clear on the definition, but for the sake of a conversation, MOST of this and other threads using the term MOD are discussing stock devices as well as modified devices - anything with removable batteries. If you want to discuss truly customized devices, I guess you gotta specify that!

On a side note - I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M POSTING IN THIS THREAD.
lol

Mod is kind of a legacy term meaning anything that is not a cigalike. An Ego is technically considered a mod.

My mom had a working pen that could fire one bullet.
