I haven't come across those signs yet. I vaped last week during a 3 day hospital stay, and have seen people vaping at my local Applebee's and Denny's. I'm not talking about cloud chasing, but the use of a clearomizer.
If an individual business wants to allow or not allowing vaping, I see it as no big deal. When the government forces it too (either way), we have a problem. You as a consumer can decide whether to patronize the place or not. Freedom of choice is a good thing.
Yes, I snuck a few quick pulls sitting in the waiting room there. But I read that sign on the way in and had to do a double take because it wasn't there 2 weeks ago. Good game, Oklahoma!
Not seeing OK as the culprit. Isn't that a private service? Also it says Please Refrain - Sounds like a Request from an Administrator, Not a Policy enactment.

Maybe they put it up just for you if you were vaping there 2 weeks ago as well?

Agreed. But that doesn't mean I can't stomp around in a childlike tantrum about it! And they may very well have put it up because of me. I'd be honored

I usually ask the business if it's OK, explain vaping to them and respect their wishes obviously.
That said, I'm far more likely to patronize vape-friendly establishment and/or sit outside if vaping is not allowed indoors.

I was in my local Starbucks on Saturday. It's right next to a university and there were several college kids Vaping away inside. So I did too, but I asked one of the baristas if Sbucks has a policy on Vaping in the store and he told me it's not permitted, they just look the other way when customers do it.
As soon as he said it's not permitted, I went outside to vape as I've always done. I will always respect the policy of any business whether I'm happy with the policy or not.

This is my third shot, not my first ten days ever vaping. And the sign wasn't there last time so as far as I knew vaping was fine there until I went today. I understand it's 'the principle' of the thing but let's not get patriotic about sneaking a few drags in a (to my knowledge) NEW non-vaping environment.

Sneaking a few drags in a private establishment where a sign explicitly asks for the opposite has nothing to do with patriotism, and everything to do with respect.
Funny thing about respect, it's a two way street.
As a former business owner, your lack of respect, would have led to a request to not let the door hit you in the ... on your way out.
