All we can do is conversationally inform people of the facts surrounding vaping vs smoking. There are still too many people who's only source of information is ANTZ related.

I smoked for 40 years and tried to quit twice. Once I quit for 2 years and started back during a stressful time in my life. The other time, I lasted for a month. Once I realized that vaping existed, I started vaping and found myself down to 6 a day from 40 the first week. I did that for about 2 years and then gave up the last few. I found that I could have ditched them anytime. Vaping took away the desire for tobacco, but I didn't know that until I tried to quit. That was two years ago and I couldn't care less about tobacco, even when people smoke around me and blow it in my direction.

The more we tell our story, the more people will repeat what they heard to others. Almost everyone who sees me vaping in public wants to know if my ecig allowed me to quit smoking. When I tell them it did, they want to know where they can take a relative to buy them one.

I was in Best Buy the other day and had just vaped my Provari. One of the sales people came fast walking up to me and I just knew she was going to ask me not to use it in the store. What she actually wanted was information. She wanted to know what flavor I was vaping and where I bought my supplies. She was a new vaper who wanted to know more about it. Time to pass out the ECF card and send her to Stormy's!

I got really annoyed at the new article floating around FB! And the gullible sheeples that seem to think the News knows all that just keep spreading it. In case you haven't seen it, here is the link: Tenn. Health Department issues warning on e-cigarettes

It is just mind boggling! And the people posting and sharing never even bother to read any comments within the news article. So frustrating!

Wow.

"They say nicotine is a highly addictive chemical which can be toxic, and that emissions from e-cigarettes contain nicotine and other chemicals such as formaldehyde, propylene glycol, acetaldehyde, acrolein and tobacco-specific nitrosamines."

We really need to start calling them out for first saying they don't know what's in it, and then saying it's full of toxic chemicals.
I am all for manufacturing standards and labeling of juices but they have to decide whether they "just don't know" or if it's deadly. "We don't know what's in it but we're pretty sure it'll kill ya."

"They ask parents keep children away from e-cigarettes and its flavors like bubblegum, chocolate, and mint."

Make sure you kids get the broccoli flavor. Unless they would enjoy that, in which case we recommend the Toasted Cardboard.

A few years ago, I had a supervisor who was basically too stupid and lazy to write performance reviews, so he had his secretary compile a collection of derogatory comments, such as "not a team player", and "struggling with his/her responsibilities", and copied and pasted those criticisms together to document his "assessment" of his subordinates ...

The anti-vaping news articles are really starting to all sound alike, as if the content is from a common source ...

Is someone out there issuing a "primer" for these semantically null articles ? Or is it just plagarism on the part of wannabe journalists without the talent or motivation to generate original material ?

If you look to the left of the website logo you will find that it is owned by NBC. One of the WORST sources for News in the world. Putin would be proud to welcome them to Russia should they decide to relocate there.

That is in fact what they do. They have a publicist (read that "propagandist") that grooms their speakers and writes press releases and then makes sure it all gets to the right people.

Both, alas.

So, by omission, they're basically saying that vodka and it's flavors like cotton candy, rainbow sherbet, root beer float, s'mores, red licorice, strawberry shortcake, pb&j and maple syrup are OK for an after school snack...

Not to mention the brainwashed foot soldiers (read volunteers) who span the country and deliver the propaganda directly.
They probably don't even know how brainwashed they are, because they trust in Mother Non-Profit.

Whenever there is a local ban attempt, you will find at least one of these foot soldiers there.
And a fountain of propaganda coming directly from their mouths.

Yep, except "non-profit" needs some sarcasm because there's big profit, otherwise they'd be pushing ecigs rather than hiring publicists.

We need advocates...doctors, politicians, media. The last time I saw a TV report on e-cigs, the anti side featured a learned professor (Glantz) and a researcher in a white lab coat. The advocate was a dude from the local vape shop. If you were uninformed, who would you believe? If there are good advocates, why don't we ever see them on a local news report. Because the media is lazy.

And, how much of the media articles we read/watch are paid advertisements from the Glantz' of this world? Newspapers have to make money, and the money they make doesn't come from subscriptions 100%.

This thread reminds me of the political section on a gun forum.

Seriously. It's uncanny. Battling the same demons, the same misinformation. The same blanket types of legislation that make no sense. The same emotionalized arguments posing as facts, about inanimate objects, that are basically tools. Everyone in control is either oblivious - or leading the charge based on ulterior horse crap.

It's like being dropped in another universe (the same universe) where I have to fight for my right to not have cancer or be sick? Common sense and basic awareness has been completely gutted from the subject. My faith in humanity once again, eye rolling-ly shattered that - if you can't understand this. How do you even function every day?!

Ok so we have this safer alternative to smoking. It's basically benign to the people around them too. Holy crap! Can't have that! You should just smoke, and be treated like the horrible person you are! Back to your designated area 150ft from the building. No, you don't get a roof. Stand in the rain smokers. And die. Quickly.

But boo hoo hoo we don't want to pay for your health care.

The same extreme levels of logic failure are at play here as well. Mystifying...

The same rhetoric is in play. The same charges to destroy your personal freedom. Even, when it's a positive change millions of people are making to improve their health. (Provide self reliance, or security - independence on a gun forum. Protect their families etc) Anything this blatantly ridiculous that bursts the stratosphere of the stupid bubble means one thing. Ulterior motives. Follow the money, as that will be where the big stinking pile of truth is...

I have a few catch phrases and slogans... but this forum has a G rating despite being an 18+ club.
